Bama Game Thread: Bama vs St Johns - Sat Nov 8 - 11a -FoxSports1

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Regarding officials- I watch a lot of basketball. Yes, officials are contracted out to several conferences but certain areas have trends/tendencies.That’s par for the course in the officiating for that part of the country. Thankfully Bama can shoot their way out of it. Most teams drop that game to St. J’s. They’re used to it.

Incredible win! I wasn’t sure what to expect today with the injuries we have right now. This team is quick on both ends of the court, and they have a lot of fight in them too. Too 5 win! R

Also, I had to listen to the radio broadcast for about 15 minutes in the second half. The guy announcing for us today was horrible. Felt like he was talking in slow motion, took him forever to say what was happening. You’d hear the color guy yell “yes” and about 8 seconds later the announcer would finally say Bama scored. Sorry for the rant, but it was painful to listen to.

Was it Roger Hoover? He usually does a good job.

This group has a chance to be special. The guard play (provided it stays healthy) is lethal even when they aren’t especially hot from outside. I’m excited about how willing Oats is to play our young forwards; he seems to have more confidence in them early on than players from the past.

The big question will be how strong our post players can get. Even if we repeat recent success, there are always the UCONNs and Dukes of the world with an endless stream of 7’-plus immovable objects ready to kill tournament dreams. Early returns on Williamson aren’t great IMO (that intentional foul???), but hopefully he gets better quickly. Sherrell and Collins O. Need to provide quality bulk down low.

Good win on the road against top 5 team. But we are going to have to get stronger in the front court. Williamson passed up shots right under the bucket.

If the bigs can come into form, this team has a chance to do something. If they dont, then S16 is probably tops for this team.
