I think team speed will be one of the deciding factors. Living in ACC land in Virginia and watching these plow horses play every week, sometimes it appears the game is in slow motion. In fact, I think they keep the grass high so they can graze between plays.

The predominate talk up here - even from sports writer friends - has been about McElroy being so green that the Tech defense is going to feast on his play. I just don't believe that. Also, comparisons of Tech's qb to Vick I think are beyond a stretch.

In order to rattle Mac, they will have to get to him. I'm sure (not a coach or claiming to be), this little point hasn't escaped Jim Mc or Saban. I would bet they have the first group of plays listed as runs and short quick strikes to see how the O line protect and/or block and to keep Mac from laying on his backside or getting rattled. Expect alot of curls/sidelines to rec and ends for the first qtr/half.

Seems to me that alot of people are selling G Mac and the offensive line short. We might be in for a pleasant suprise this Saturday. I forsee some opening possesion jitters but I don't think it will last long and G Mac, I think , is a pretty sharp guy and a good leader.

As predicted. However, I did not think that Greg Mac would be as nervous as he was coming out or that our line couldn't block anybody the first qtr and into the second. I was very surprised Bama couldn't run the ball at all (1st qtr) and that Bama attempted so many long passes in the early game.

Penalties made this a game with VA Tech. Otherwise, (even with the O line problems/Mac,) this was still a game Bama should have won easier than Bama made it.

A silver lining is that if VA Techs D line was supposed to be so good, this was a good test to show the line what needs to be worked on.

When it comes down to it, A win is a win.
