So the kid almost suffered a serious neck injury in the middle of a post-play fight that the coaching staff wasn't exactly too quick to break up?

Yeah, good luck explaining that one to this kid's parents, Tubby.

For his sake, though, I hope he's okay. I'm sure that is easily the scariest thing he will ever experience, and I would wish that on no one. I imagine, though, it's time for even their defensive linemen to realize that they better be on the lookout for those Barner offensive linemen, too. Apparently chose cheap shots are not reserved solely for the LSUs and the Clemsons of the world.

And the barners say that Nick Saban doesn't have control over his players? They are so stupid. At least our players aren't attacking each other on the practice field! They should get the plank out of their own eye before they remove the speck from ours. Idiots.

Well the trifecta happened at the Barn. Two cheap blocks and now this. It sure looks like the Barn coaches especially Hugh Nall can not or will not control his players.

""Coleman was being blocked by offensive tackle Lee Ziemba, and contact apparently continued after the whistle. At least one player described it as a "fight."

After the play, offensive line coach Hugh Nall called Ziemba to the sidelines, where he watched the scene unfold with concern. He appeared distraught as he left the stadium.""

On another note about this, I find it interesting theat the Mobile newspaper is the only one to mention the word fight in there write up this morning on the al.com website.

The spinmeister's of the Huntsville Times and the Birmingham New's said they just got "tangled" up.

Wow. I hope the kid will be okay. I can't stand the Barn, but I realize these are just kids playing a game.

Y'know, I thought we were finally getting to a place where we realized we should not throw stones at other programs for things that happen there. Even our rivals. Our recent arrests and program issues show that no one program is immune from these issues. I know for a fact we've discussed "fights" at our own practices (in the past) and some have defended these skirmishes. In this one a kid really got hurt

I hope we keep our issues available for reference when we discuss issues at other schools and do what many of us think an Alabama fan is..."classy."

flame away...

Coleman's head was tangled in Ziemba's arms and then he twisted his neck like they do on Friday night smackdown. I guess it is a new blocking technique at Chopblock U.
Coleman's nephew just commited to the boogs. He might oughta rethink that one.

i was there on the sideline during this scrimmage. The way Kodi described it as a "fight" is definitely not true However there was a small scuffle earlier, this definitely was not a fight

Forget that the kid is a Barner -- not all are lucky enough to play for the Tide -- he has a serious injury that could have been life changing permanently. It may have ended his football career.

I hope you get well soon and have a full recovery Mr. Coleman.

Chopblock U is a fitting name for the cow college. These are just kids practicing in spring and this Ziemba thug keeps laying cheap shots down so he can think he's tough.

Ziemba is gonna try this crap with a team that won't stand for it, and he'll get chopblocked himself. I'm surprised LSU didn't teach him a lesson right there back in October. I don't want Bama to be the team that teaches him this impending life lesson, but I wouldn't shed a tear if they did.

What CB said. My son's FB career ended after HS, but I've not forgotten the cold sweats caused by any player not getting up. Even when playing for a hated opponent.

I agree with the overall jest of Chattbritt except for one major flaw. A Coleman never really considered the Tide,so not every player is luckey enough to play for the Tide dosen't apply to A Coleman.
