I slightly disagree here. He has the skill set of Noah Clowney but maybe a slightly better ball handler. It will be a slight adjustment early on but, Primo and Kira did just fine reclassifying. We'll need to be a little patient with Stevenson. I expect this to be a learning year and then hopefully a break out year. Maybe he can get cooking by tourney time...that would be awesome.
I hope you're right. Better than Clowney would be just fine with me.I slightly disagree here. He has the skill set of Noah Clowney but maybe a slightly better ball handler. It will be a slight adjustment early on but, Primo and Kira did just fine reclassifying.
For context, when you go to the 247 page of our commitments, at the bottom it always shows the all time highest signees. Stevenson isn't a signee yet, but he comes it at #5 on that list.I honestly don't know much about the kid except he's a 4-5 star, depending on rating services.
Kid was in the shadows of NC and chose to Roll with the Tide. I understand it was probably about playing time more than anything, but we still poach a guy that could have gone to Virginia or NC!!!
He sounds like he can be a dynamic type player. If he's a better ball handler than Clowney he could be scary good on the offensive end getting to the basket. I hope he's got the heart of a rebounder like Clowney too!
I agree with you and Clowney is a good comparison. His dad played in Europe for 10 years after a great mid major career and his mom played for UNC for three years so his pedigree is really good. He chose Bama because of our NBA style offense and how we play D so he can get to the next level. He will get a lot of premium PT this coming year. Here is some of his highlights. Now, I am not saying that he is better than Clowney. That is putting alot of expectations on the kid. He is a better ball handler but, he isn't likely going to be as good on the defensive end as Clowney.
An On3 article I read said he hit 36% from 3 pt which is a nice percentage for a 6' 10" guy. Here is his stats from a Gatorade Player of the Year article. You have to like the 4.47 GPA to go along with his basketball skills. The young man has crazy upside and the Clowney comparison is a good assessment, he has a nice shot as well and can hit the 3 ... not sure what his percentage is but he can hit it. The game above said he hit three 3s in that game so
Welcome and Roll Tide Mr. Stevenson!!!
Now if we can get Nelson as well boy oh boy lol
For some reason the intro to The Six Million Dollar Man came to mind.
This is probably it but, we do have our eye on another transfer. I’m not expecting it to happen, but there is always a chance. Is there anyone else after Stevenson and Nelson? Starting to look like a group with some potential. If this is everyone we have one spot left, correct? I'd like to have another productive big guy.

We also might leave it open, as there is a chance that Aiden Sherrell graduates early, commits to us, and enrolls in January.
Pretty surprised, but not shocked.JQ entering the portal.
Ugh. As much as I hate it, I kind of get it. Why now, though?JQ entering the portal.
