BDS crowd noise against UT

I've never seen a crowd more hungry for a big time win like they were against Florida. I hope that we can duplicate that noise and maybe raise it some with our sheer hatred of all things Orange.

My same crew will be there. This time I'm taking some Aleve to pop at halftime for the splitting headache I'm sure I'll have.

I've always wondered - during a game like the Florida game, how far away from the stadium can the crowd noise be heard?

My brother was watching the FL game on TV 1/2 mile from BDS. They heard the crowd all afternoon - with doors and windows CLOSED. That's loud, my friends.

I found myself screaming my head off during the first quarter of the Ole Miss game. I then looked around, saw that I was the only one, and remembered that I'm not in the fraternity section anymore. Is it because I'm not used to the silence or are we just that much louder during ball games? I really, really hope we all can match the florida game volume this weekend, however I don't see that happening. The Vols aren't #5 in the nation, we aren't the underdogs.. unfortunately that's what the folks were screaming about. I'll be yelling knowing we'll be 7-0 Saturday! Woo-Hoo!

I think the Florida game was Bryant Denny's rebirth. The crowd and the stadium became an entity and anyone who was there had such a blast contributing to the win that it will undoubtedly spread over to this week. There will be the same energy this week and it will continue to grow into next years expansion.

Let's not forget that the BDS upper deck expansion was in '98. How many great home wins have we had since 98? So the sky's the limit for the future of crowd noise at BDS.

The loudest Vaught-Hemingway was all day was just after Kenneth Darby's 48 yard touchdown run. For about 30 seconds it sounded like Bryant Denny used to sound before the Florida game. That 30 seconds was louder than Ole Miss got all day. I was sitting on the West side of the stands, opposite both groups of Alabama fans, and I could really tell how we sounded just after that play, it was the only time we were loud all day. But it was an away game and we had less than half the fans Ole Miss did, what can you expect?

Unfortunately, I don't have tickets yet and will have to buy them on the street. I hope my unemployed wallet can afford them. :eek2: But my son and I are going to be there. I was there for the Gators and I feel I made a significant contribution to the noise then. FWIW, I want this game infinitely more than I wanted the Gators. I will be spent from yelling, clapping, screaming and whatever else I can think of to send that bunch of orange crap back to Tennessee(yes, I live there) in disgrace and humiliation if possible. Roll Tide and let's get some serious vengeance on some volunteers.

If you are an old fart and don't feel up to it, give your ticket to a liquored-up guy on the quad.

LOL give them to me!! i won't be liquored-up...but i promise i will be LOUD!!! still trying to find my tickets, but i will be there. and sure hope it is louder (if possible) than it was during florida....honestly it took me at least four days for my voice to come all the way back...and i've been to alot of bama games, done a lot of screaming, and that has NEVER happened! Can't wait till this weekend!!!!! I can't imagine how loud the boos will be in fat phil and the viles come onto the field!

i'm getting my vocal chords ready!!!

and one more thing, if you are sitting behind me and have a problem with me standing up, just go ahead and get over it now :)

I'm going to be at homecoming in a couple weeks, but I have a severe case of TMJ syndrome. I can barely open my mouth to talk, much less scream. :frown:

I know it's going to be frustrating, but I'll have a good time anyway. They should make an exception and let me have an artificial noisemaker! :)
