The fact of the matter is that Alabama fans have turned a corner in making noise.

People who think it is going to reach UF game levels for Hawaii, or Duke, or LA-Monroe, or Ole Miss, or MSU in most seasons are living in a complete and absolute dream world.

The Swamp has a reputation for being the loudest stadium in the nation because it has played host to a lot of major games due to the success of it's program. In recent years, that has been lacking at Alabama...but that too is soon to change.

Next year Tennessee, LSU, Georgia and Arkansas all come to T-Town...and I promise the fans will know what to do.

Subject comes up every year and not far into the thread criticizing generations start and by the 2nd page it's normally locked. When I'm at the game I do my part and that's what I control. And I'm of the "silver hair" generation.

all he said is very true....BDS is not a very difficult place to play on a consistent basis because they fans are not consistent....fans should not allow the opposing team to be able to think when they have the ball, regardless if it's Florida, Tennessee, Auburn or LA Monroe....LA Monroe should get the same level of difficulty as Florida did last year...every team that comes into BDS should get that level of difficulty the whole game...no just at the beginning or after big plays....take the Hawaii game for example....BDS was never very loud that entire game...yes, the fans got a little louder on the final drive, but not enough to keep Hawaii from checking off, as they did...BDS should be deafening the entire game, or at least when the opposing team has the ball......

It should be near impossible for opponenets to drive down and score touchdowns on the ground in the north endzone with the number of fans raining noise down on you at that end of the field.

However, no team going in that direction ever has to worry about going into the wind either.

Yup. I agree with the article also. I was somewhat disappointed last week, but I shouldn't have been because I knew what to expect.

Right on my brothers. I want BD stadium to up the ante
in the future and become the loudest in the nation and
best of the best. The visual aesthetic has already turned a 360 angle
and the now the only finishing touch is the noise to continue to
grow and the other endzone to capp it off.

I'll put it this way...

If you HAVE to make noise to win, then you have bigger fish to fry than the fan's vocal cords.

Sorry, but I'm not ever screaming like a 13 year old boy at a Back Street Boys concert because Lance Bass is just that cute! :)

Everyone has danced around the real issue, so I'll lay it out in plain sight. We are too arrogant for our own good. We think that we don't have to make noise to enjoy a home field advantage. We don't have to intimidate the opposition. We are Alabama. That is intimidation enough.

Fast forward to the present. The "12th man" isn't a story from aTm anymore. It is a tangible, physical thing. I know. I've felt it. I was in BDS last October 1. I screamed myself hoarse. I stood the entire game. I watched the Tide feed off of the crowd's energy, and I saw the #5 team in the nation wilt under that energy.

Since that day, how many times have we seen Tide players trying to pump up the crowd during critical moments? That is something new. I don't hardly remember anyone doing that before that Florida game. If they did, it wasn't to the extent since then. How many times has Coach Shula mentioned the crowd noise and its effect on the game since then? You never heard that before. The teams before didn't know what they were missing.

Now we, as Bama fans, have been asked many times and will continue to be asked, by our beloved Crimson Tide, to exhibit a true home field advantage in Bryant Denny. Who will answer the call? I will, and I hope you will too.

I remember CPB making a statement once that he didn't care for the fans making it so loud that teams couldn't get plays in, call audibles, etc. I honestly didn't believe him, but think he was trying to be a little apologetic considering our dominance on the field. Unfortunately there are many out there who will remind you of this if you happen to sit in the wrong section at BDS. Bama fans are smart and know when our team needs us the most, but many as was stated are too arrogant for their own good. I always hated that country club feeling you get when sitting in or near certain Alumni sections. I was almost ejected once for refusing to sit down, I eventually caved cause I didn't want to miss the game, but was amazed at the complacency of these fans. These are the same people who claim to love Bama and claim to be experts on the subject of Bama football. If they are so smart then they should realize the importance of creating an intimidating atmosphere from kickoff until the end of the game regardless of the opponent.

I am waiting for BDS to be a force to be recokened with......our Fans, our 12th man on the field..........!!!

Last week when the ALA - BAMA cheer was done.........that was the loudest I've ever heard "ANY" cheer either live or over the TV!

I was watching on PPV from Vega$ and I got chill-bumps up and down my spine when I heard the roar of the crowd: ALA - BAMA!!! ALA - BAMA!!!, etc

NOW! That's the kinda noise that will drive opponents QBs crazy!!! Right???

So, starting with Vandy this week!

Just Do it!!:BigA:

To each their own, but imo, this line of thinking is the main thing that stands between todays BDS and a BDS that is an intimidating place to play with a home field advantage like that of Tenn, Fla St, etc. Personally, the sooner we get these people out and replace them with people who will get loud and rowdy, the better.

a nice winning streak against big programs would help the cause as well. I understand the probation hurt that, and it will take a little more time to get that reputation we all so strongly desire. But we definitely need to put together a nice long string of victories over highly ranked teams at home.

So which comes first? The winning or the noise?
