"DITTO"I'm glad most college stadiums don't serve it. I really dislike being around alcohol.
Not that I recall. This does *not* mean that everyone inside the stadium stayed stone cold sober back in the day @ LF...Beer was probably served inside Legion Field back in the day but it was an off-campus facility.
I would swear there are other places that serve beer at on campus venues.Colorado is the only on-campus facilty I know of that serves beer at general concession stands
Not looking to go way off target or pick a fight but I'd ask, why? Beverages containing alcohol are no different than your kitchen knife, gun, car, etc. Treated properly they're great... abused or disrespected and mayhem ensues. Seems most everyone except for the drunks themselves would/should/do have a problem with alcohol abusers... but not alcohol... BIG difference in the 2!I really dislike being around alcohol.
Beer wasn't sold at Legion in my memory. Not that it would have mattered; beer doesn't mix with Coke as well as bourbon. :biggrin2:No alcohol sold on college campuses so none at the game. Beer was probably served inside Legion Field back in the day but it was an off-campus facility.
I agree completely. :cheers2:Not looking to go way off target or pick a fight but I'd ask, why? To all of this I say I wish the culture's relationship with alcohol was VERY different. We wouldn't have to worry about our 19 year olds drinking themselves to death if they'd been taught to respect the beverage at a young age through experience.

Yeah, the SEC has a rule against it at conference games, even those off campus. That's why beer was sold at the Ga Dome vs Clemson and Va. Tech but not at the SEC Championship Game.I may be wrong, but I think each conference dictates alcohol sales?
I don't have to give an explanation of why I don't like being around alcohol, and I'm not going to. You have your opinion and I have mine. I'm going to leave it at that.I would swear there are other places that serve beer at on campus venues.

If you're not willing to back you reasoning, why bring it on a message board to start?I don't have to give an explanation of why I don't like being around alcohol, and I'm not going to. You have your opinion and I have mine. I'm going to leave it at that.

Fair enough.Because it's personal. I shouldn't have said anything.
We're probably drifting into "Non-Sports" territory here, but I've always believed in "All things in moderation." Prohibition of anything only leads to abuse and too much of anything is bad for you.I would swear there are other places that serve beer at on campus venues.
