May or may not be a funny story: I only realized about two minutes ago that the lyric after "Any little song that you know" is "Everything that's small has to grow." I should have seen this coming from the man who sang "I want to be your back door man" and "Squeeze my lemon until the juice runs down my leg."

I'll name three from Tool:

+ "Parabol" is a 3-minute introductory song to "Parabola" on the Lateralus album; and

+ "Lost Keys" is a nearly 4-minute introductory song to "Rosetta Stoned" on the 10,000 Days album.

Both are exquisite combo pieces in my opinion.

And for a more standard song construction, "Ticks & Leeches" on Tool's Lateralus album is fantastic. The introduction lasts over a minute, and the song has some incredible drumming.

Off the top of my head:
Lynyrd Skynyrd - 'Simple Man'
Dire Straits - 'Brothers In Arms'
RATM - 'Take The Power Back'
RATM - 'New Millennium Homes'
Led Zeppelin - 'No Quarter'
Metallica - 'Wherever I May Roam'
The Cult - 'Sun King'
Pink Floyd - 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' (both)
Pink Floyd - 'Echoes'
Supertramp - 'Bloody Well Right'
ACDC - 'Hells Bells'
ACDC - 'For Those About To Rock We Salute You'
The Missionary Position - 'Where The Wild Winds Blow'
Roger Waters - 'Amused To Death'

I'm sure there are tons more, those are just ones I can recall right now.

I've spent a good deal of my life staring across bars. Here's a short list that invoke vocal, physical, and emotional response(mostly female) and will electrify a room. These intros induce bile and turbulence collisions every time.
Pretty Woman
Brown Eyed Girl
Sweet home Alabama
Funk 49
Inagodadavida
One way out
My Girl
Born To Be Wild
Foggy Mountain Breakdown
Layla- Cream
Foxy Lady
I'd include WipeOut but the only word in the song IS the intro.

A warning to those of you posting songs, make sure there's no profanity in the lyrics. I've already had to delete one and issue a suspension. I'm going back through these videos and if they violate TF language policy, some folks are going to be taking time outs.

The warning is at the top of the page. You're all intelligent enough to follow the rules. Please do so. Thanks.

If you play Rasputin's music backwards it contains profanity. Launch him outta here!! ( or is that only records?)
