Well, the word is, the women at Ole Miss are hotter than donut grease!

You got that right. Next to Alabama, they definitely have the most prettiest women in the South. Nothing like taking in a game on a fall afternoon there and drinking a few hottie totties with the ladies. Aside from that, the area itself has a lot to offer and is a good place to settle down and raise a family. I wouldn't mind living there at all....

Other than TTown, of course, here's how I'd rank the ones I've been to.

Liked these:
--Oxford
--Athens
--Gainesville
--Nashville

Indifferent to:
--Columbia

Didn't really like these:
--Knoxville, the land of perpetual road construction; campus isn't bad, & the Vol Navy concept down on the river is pretty cool. But there's that whole orange thing...:D (sorry, Tennessee)
--Starkville - one of the more aptly named places in the U.S.
--Baton Rouge - fun game environment, but good night, what an unpleasant town! (sorry, Fishhead)
--Auburn

Haven't been:
--Fayetteville
--Lexington

I have been to just about SEC town, except for Lexington and Columbia, proper. Since I like to golf, hunt/fish, and eat, I usually try to incorporate those activities into my adventures into hostile territory. I also work out like a madman and going to a gym near an SEC campus gives me a chance to see what kind of students each school has.

My favorites besides the obvious:

Baton Rouge: I know that others feel it is a dump but as far as my hobbies are concerned, it is a great place to visit. Awesome fishing and great duck hunting are really close. Golf ain't bad. Lots of good places to grub.

Auburn: Overlook the trailer infestation and smell of livestock and Auburn is OK. I would have never in my right mind gone to school there, but pretty good golf right near campus. Good gym. Cool nightlife.

Gainesville. Games at the Swamp and UF make this town what it is.

Athens and Oxford are awesome for the scenery. Oxford maybe a little more because the best steakhouse on the planet is within striking distance in Como, MS. Plus, there is a great little course in Sardis.

My least favorites:

Starkvegas. Pretty boring. Reminds me way to much of College Station. The only good thing is there is some good duck hunting nearby.

Knoxville. Games are intense and the campus is nice, but the town didn't do much for me. However, they have a nice Gold's Gym that is packed right near the school.

Nashville. I feel more like a tourist than I do a sports fan here for some reason.

Could care less if I ever go back:

Fayette-nam. This place is in the middle of nowhere and getting there is the worst experience. Plus, we hardly ever do well there.

I actually like Auburn. The town is easy to get through and if you get lost just get on the loop and go around the city. Even with the two lane road going in and out of Auburn off 280, they always have police and troopers working the lights and stop signs where you get out of there quickly. And I use to think the parking was screwed up since they made everything high dollar parking- but since last year Tuscaloosa parking fiascos it about normal gameday parking.

Best: T-Town!

I don't care what anyone says. It's by far hands down the most beautiful campus and the women there are dime pieces. Never in my life have I seen so many gorgeous women in on area, and I say that after visiting Cali, Arizona, nearly ever major city in Florida and Georgia, and of course, Alabama. I took a friend from Aubarn to the 'Bama/UGA game last season, and he even told me when it comes to women, T-Town is heaven on Earth. I realize it's not the largest school in the south, but the ugly to pretty chick ratio is by far one-sided... And not to mention the quad, the strip, the walk of champions, T-TOWN OWNS EVERY COLLEGIATE CAMPUS ON THE PLANET!!!

Worst: Definitely Aubarn. Not saying that because I hate the school, I'm saying that because prior to moving to Florida, I was born and raised in the Aubarn area. There's absolutely NOTHING to do there (unless you enjoy rodeos); what little bars they have only feature these no name country rejects; if you don't drive a ridiculously high (or jacked up) truck, you're considered the minority; most of the town is nothing but pure ghetto and when school isn't in, the population drops by half; they have NO STRIP, all the have is downtown and it's pretty much their version of the strip; tailgating SUCKS... their fans don't know the true meaning of fun... and not to mention the cow pastures, the chicken houses, the catfish ponds, and their 3 foot campus (and I'm talking about their actual CAMPUS, not their pastures and such).

I love Tuscaloosa, the campus, etc.

As much as that is the case, I have to admit the U of Colorado (Boulder) is breathtaking.

It is also a babe haven. Truly astounding.

I'll buck the trend and say I didn't care much for Oxford.

Yes, there are some beautiful women there but that's it. The stadium is substandard compared to the rest of the SEC and the town itself is too small and too isolated when coming from the east. I'm sure if you live there and/or consider Oxford to be part of Memphis' MSRA, it's passable but it's one of my least favorite trips.

Starkville is just horrendous, I'm sorry. Other than the school-run golf course, there is no "there" there.

Not a big fan of trips to Auburn, either, although someone mentioned good golf earlier in this thread and that's true, especially courses accessible to the public (Tuscaloosa used to be the worst anywhere about this).

Baton Rouge has too many crime/environmental concerns for me to want to visit or live there.

Lexington is a nice town.

Knoxville is a mixed bag. There are some very bad areas of that town. But it's the gateway to the Smokies, which is my favorite part of the country. In Knoxville proper, I don't see a lot of areas I'd want to visit or live but I've never been in a town that size and been able to find things I need as well as I can do it in Knoxville (meaning, auto repair experts, obscure tools, things I'd have to special order at home, etc.). UT's campus is in the upper half of the conference.

Gainesville is great on game day but the rest of the time, no thanks.

I love Nashville but it's so big I have a hard time calling it a college town.

Tuscaloosa and Athens are probably the best. Oxford has gobs of attractive women.

On the downside, Auburn has really grown in the last twenty years but unfortunately, it's still not very nice. Starkville isn't horrible, it's more of a sleepy little Southern town, there simply isn't a lot to do or see there. I will say that Starkville has probably the friendliest people (not connected to the University there).

Very fair assessment, Jess...UT's campus used to be not-so-nice, but they have really put alot of money and effort into it the last 10 years or so, and it's really looking very nice

Your quote about being able to find things in that size of a town is right on...It has just about everything you can want or need...As of 3-4 years ago (it may still be, I just haven't heard in a while), there were more restaurants, per capita, than any city in America, so the food selection is very good as well (go ahead, insert fat UT jokes here, I can take it )

Location is great too...As you said, it's the Gateway to the Smokies...We're also 2.5 hours from Nashville, 2.5 hours from Atlanta, and a 4-hour-or-less drive from 7 SEC campuses

Good post

For the music scene you would have to put Athens in a category by itself.

:QUARTET:

:hurray::hurray::hurray::hurray::hurray:
in a category below Nashville, yes. Athens may have some great college bands that play some cool frat parties and bars, but I will guarantee that the Nashville music scene blows Athens out of the water. From rock to country to classical to hip-hop......it's all here.

Tenn, I have to agree with you. Even though I never had a problem at UT the area outside the campus was getting old and looking more and more like Legion Field area( wait no place can be as bad as Legion Field).
Looks like the University and the city torn down some of the old buildings and also reinvested in the area. It shows that you can do something before the area becomes a slum.

But I still hate all those hills.
