Pogacar and UAE looked very strong, and they played their cards perfectly.

The GC will be more back of the mind for about a week. There's a flat-ish itt, but I don't expect anything dramatic there. Next HC climbs are in 14 and 15 (on Sunday the 14th and Monday the 15th).

I've been a road racer, and I've hit white knuckle speeds on a descent; watching Pogacar (in particular) FLY down Galibier was enough to raise my heartrate a zone or two.

I remembered him crashing last year or the year before coming down the mountain so watching him fly down I was holding my breath for him. Looking at the scenery they are riding in is just beautiful. They have to really focus so they don’t fly off the mountain.

2 of my 3 bikes are tubeless and it is definitely worth it, the third bike is too old to convert to tubeless. in 4 years i've had no flats on either bike. when my tires get old, they will sometimes lose pressure if they sit for several days.
finally got my bike fixed. the protection tape on the rim had shifted and was poking holes in the tubes.

also found out my bike is not tubeless ready, so it would cost about $500 - $600 to convert. or I could get one that is ready for about $1000. Don't want to drop that much right now, so sticking with what I have.

glad to hear it was a simple fix. tubeless is nice to have, but not $5-600 nice

looks like a lot of work has been done on the Silver Comet Trail. took yesterday off and went for a ride. hopefully they plan on putting up traffic lights in spots where you cross busy roads, otherwise bad things are going to happen.

Not surprising, I guess but still........

Although I would put forth that that is kind of a made-up number. The pros who actually "need" this aren't buying bikes out of pocket. Any top level team is getting supplied as part of a sponsorship arrangement. It gets weirdly skewed in that it pushes a certain story for the price tag to be as ridiculous as possible.

I have a friend going back to high school years who started and ran a very successful high end bike retail operation. When I would tell him that I didn't understand where the critical mass was for this market, as pros are getting sponsorship and (what would now be) 10-15k bikes significantly limited your market, the joke was that there are more dentists and orthodontists out there than you'd imagine.

I don't normally come across horses where I ride but would like to think I would slow way down and go way around them - just like I do when I pass dog walkers in my work truck. Animals deserve as much space as possible between them and ANY vehicle on wheels!
