I was listening to the daily recruiting show on Rivals Radio this morning. Bill King was talking about the top high school basketball players in the country at their position and the schools they had signed with. He started talking about Tony Mitchell and said something to the effect of Mitchell must not have gotten the memo that he won't be coached next year. He said something about understanding his decision to go to Alabama if he was a football player because Saban would coach him up and develop him, but that CMG wouldn't. Then he said something about how CMG just rolls the ball on the floor and says now go play. Later in the program he was talking about the SEC being a bit down this year and said, "LSU and South Carolina ran their coaches off and Alabama just isn't coached."

I thought it was interesting because it was about the first criticism of CMG that I've heard from the national media.

That's because Bama has never been a perennial power in B'ball on the national seen. I have a feeling if Bama had the history of a Kentucky or UCLA you would have heard the criticism many, many moons ago.

Great point, expectations on a national scale can be a blessing to CMG while coaching at a football?...... o.k...... football school. Or let me refraise and say lack of expectations can be a blessing.

Right. Not nationally, but until recently you could say that we've been second to Kentucky as far as the SEC goes. Sadly it doesn't look like we care to compete anymore.
