And how many yards would Jeanty have if he had to face defenses like that every week? I’ll give you a hint: we wouldn’t be hearing his name as a Heisman Trophy candidate.

what would his rushing stats be if next week he had to go play in Tiger Stadium, and then follow that up with a home game against the team like Georgia?

That’s the reason I could not get behind his candidacy with a lot of fervor. The same reason I couldn’t get behind Steve McNair’s when he was at Alcorn State. That being said, McNair proved to be a talented pro and perhaps Jeanty will as well. But hopefully we won’t hear any more Derek Henry comparisons of the college careers.

One other point: despite the fact that state pin had a game last week and Boise pretty well could’ve begun their preparation the day they got the buy, they still couldn’t really make a contest of it say for a brief period of time.

And they would’ve had to win two more games after that.

Cinderella cannot happen in college football, particularly when they actually have to play the playoff games rather than hope they can win a poll vote.

Teams like Indiana, SMU, Clemson, BSU, and, after tomorrow, Arizona State can all say they received their participation trophy for whatever that is worth.

Neither Boise nor Arizona State should have gotten byes.

Oregon, Georgia, Penn State, and Texas probably should have been your byes.

SMU should have been the 12 seed playing at 5 seed Notre Dame
Clemson the 11 seed playing at 6 seed Ohio State
Boise State the 10 seed playing at 7 seed Tennessee
Indiana the 9 seed playing at 8 seed Arizona State

There must be changes, not only to schedules, but also to the playoff selection process.
Agreed. But with portal and NIL, teams can drastically change year to year. You can schedule a "good team" now but in two years when you play they could be terrible and vice versa.
The SOS has to mean more. Also no automatic qualifiers. And while we're at it go ahead and make it 16 teams with no bye cause they ain't going back to 8 teams.
