Brando & others comments

Just saw the half time report with Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman. Also this other dude. They spoke about the BCSCG. They gave reasons who they think will win, now this is fine, but remember Tim is a huge LSU backer. Tillman says "LSU has 5 Running backs including the QB and this will be too much for Bama as they wear them down."

Brando asks, "who is the better team since they played last?" Wilson "LSU", Tim then agrees with Tillman but gives no reason.

Tim then says this..."If Bama wins should it be a split?"
The other older man, not sure of his name, said "No, the winner wins it", then Tillman says "unless its a 6-3 or 9-6 win by Bama then they split." They mention 2003.

Tim then states "this Game will not be close as LSU will win". So, Tim says if we win its a spilit, but if LSU wins its all theirs.

I might call CBS on Tuesday and ask them why they have that "HOMER" on their sports cast? He gave us no respect as usual.

It is all a matter of perspective. Brando wants LSU to win for obvious reasons. I want Bama to win for obvious reasons. Brando has a platform, while I have Tidefans. I respect why others beleive LSU will win. Many so called experts forget about "Untangables" that can have impacts in the game. Just enjoy the haggling. I'm glad that we are relevant again.

Thanks for the support, I don't mind someone "expert' picking LSU at all. But CBS is nation wide and most folks are using the restroom or doing chores for someone (Mama) and he just asts so cocky about LSU. And whats up with his hair, he needs to go to work for "Just For Men". I was traveling thru and picked up his Radio call in show back in the 80s. AM 770, and you talk about being a HOMER and hating Bama. But thats part of it, just don't carry it to a nation wide audience.

"LSU has 5 Running backs including the QB and this will be too much for Bama as they wear them down."
So Bama doesn't have any RB depth, huh?? Lacy wasn't 100% when we played them that night. Bama didn't even used Fowler. where were these 5 RBs during the Nov.5th meeting???

Spencer Ware their #1 RB wasn't even their best back that night. Ford has the most success against our rush defense with 70 total yards on the ground. Jefferson had success when they were in their option schemes with 43 yards.

I'm sick and tired of the argument that LSU has the better RB depth than Bama. LSU does have solid RBs that they utilized. they looked like world beaters against weaker competition. that perception has got the media slobbering all over them. Bama only uses our RB depth when we have a comfortable lead in the 4th quarter. Les Miles couldn't care less what the score is, he clears the bench often. different offensive approach , but to the ignorant onlooker LSU has suprior depth!! YET Lacy avg. 7.5 vs. non conference and 5.2 vs. SEC teams per carry and Fowler avg. 6.9 vs. non conference and 6.2 vs. SEC teams!!!! a fact that these talking heads seemed to conventiently overlooked!!

Jan. 9th can't get here soon enough!!

I heard Brando actually say that it would not be as close as last time. He certainly can have any opinion that he wishes-as far as I am concerned that is fine. However, he could be a little more tactful, at least while he was on the air. Between Spencer and Brando, all that was needed was Lester Miles and the LSU band and they could have had a pep rally. Good god man-a little self control.

It's actually a vast improvement over the toupee. He's had hair transplants now, but as frequently happens, they don't grow normally. Maybe they don't get the little plugs in vertically or they pick some out of a cowlick or something. Anyway, since he got some hair back in front, he seems to be controlling it with axle grease and coloring it, as you say, with JFM...

Brando used to do LSU basketball games and lives in Louisiana near BR. I wish everyone in the nation knew that then what he says concerning this subject would be more transparent, if that is even possible.

Then there is the CBS vs ESPN angle. They (CBS) would love to take some of the meaning out of the BCS game if they could.

Brando has always hated the BCS and Alabama, so this is a double whammy for him because he can lash out at both of his nemesis at the same time...

Who cares? Talk is cheap and so is Tim Brandy (and yes, I spelled his name that way on purpose). Anybody who thinks LSU will win (of course they can win, but so can Bama) by more then 2 scores, is fooling themselves.

i see some still get in a wad when someone picks against Bama. I just dont understand that.
I don't think some of you understand. When Herby picks against Bama, there's some grousing, but, with Brando, there's an old, old grudge existing here. Brando is not just somebody picking against Bama on honest analysis (and he does pretend to be an analyst). Brando, over the years has seized every opportunity to bash Bama, usually with a little grin and he loves our hate. I've seen incidents where he's slyly suggested that there was an upset in the making when we're a 3 TD favorite. In a word, he's both transparent, predictable, and, well, somewhat monotonous. I don't feel that I'm in that class of people who gripe every time some pundit doesn't pick us. I usually just shrug my shoulders. When it comes to Brando, well, I think he's a boil on the butt of broadcasting and I heartily second every post above bashing him...

When Brando said that he nor the other guys didn't care who won, he lost what credibility he had left, which isn't much. I doubt Tillman and Barnhart have a rooting interest, but Brando clearly is for LSU because A) it's his home state and B) his daughter is a student there.

Personally, I couldn't care less who Brando or anyone else is for. Their opinions don't mean jack squat to what will happen on January 9th in the Super Dome.
