Disappointing that Roy wouldn’t make a lot of these teams with all that offensive firepower at the other four spots. Roy would own the boards and protect the rim, a much more effective Bediako.
You're comparing Rogers senior year to Bediako's sophomore year.

Rogers stats: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/roy-rogers-1.html
Bediako's stats: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/charles-bediako-1.html

Rogers as a sophomore: 3ppg, 2.7rpg, 1.2bpg, 12 minutes per game.
Bediako as a sophomore: 6.3ppg, 6rpg, 1.9bpg, 20.6 minutes per game.

Who are you taking RIGHT NOW? That’s the question. Roy at this point is a much more effective Bediako. It’s not a sight at Charles, he may improve exponentially.

I’m also the guy who is counting down Charles’s double doubles on the way to the championship.

I’d take Charles. Different game now. Roy’s value would be lower in this offense. Plus Roy wasn’t a great defender away from the rim. Bediako runs the floor much better than Roy did. And is more mobile on defense.

If the other team has a stretch 5, Charles can extend and is fast enough to prevent drives. Roy was a rim protector. A great one. But todays game is light years apart from his era.

No one suggested taking Bediako at this point. I was just pointing out that bringing his name into the discussion with RR wasn't really a fair comparison.

Is he better than Robert Horry was? Robert Horry is my all-time favorite Alabama basketball player. 16 years in the NBA.

Here's the stats for Horry and Miller. If we're talking best college player while at Bama, and I think we are, then I think Miller wins that contest. Horry's defensive stats are superior.

I think you could argue Miller has had the best freshman season of anybody. Best season, probably not
