What do you think of this move?

Sure, he is basically free since we do not have to trade anybody, but Caminiti has been hobbled for a number of years & I am not too excited about Chipper in left.

I would have liked to have see us go after Greg Vaughn.

Do you think anything else will follow? Burnitz or Wells?

I dont see cammy making a difference at all. I just read that cox said Chipper is staying at third for now. Cammy will probably be Dh and play first and 3rd every now and then. He is just so tired and worn. In his prime this guy got after it and years of playing with his intensity catches up with ya. We'll see. Vaughn or Burnitz would give you guys more pop than him. We'll see. I would like to see the Dodgers go after Wells. Brown, Park, Wells, sounds good to me.

If you look over the past 10 years of Scherholtz's career, you'll see a lot of this "get-the-player-past-their-prime-but-see-what-they-can-do" type mentality. It has worked in a few cases (Pendleton, Bream) and has backfired (Bonilla, Sanders). I just hope they keep Chipper at 3rd and hope to God he is able to contribute the 2nd half of the season and in the playoffs....

"I like the situation we're going to be coming into next year. Everybody is going to be sitting back and looking right past Alabama. We're going to sneak right up and smack 'em in the mouth."

Back in '86 Caminiti was playing AA ball in Columbus, Georgia. I was a season ticket holder, and my seat was about 50 feet from third base. I got a up-close look at him every game.

I loved watching Caminiti play. He always gave 100%. He hit what is still the longest home run I have ever seen in person. The ball hit the pine trees just past the right field wall, and I swear the ball was rising when it hit.

It is great to have KC in a Braves uniform. He is past his prime, but his heart is still in the game. And I think the leadership he is able to provide is much closer to Pendleton and Bream than it is to Sanders and Bonilla. I wish him the best of luck!

If I heard correctly,Ken went 3for4 his first game with the Braves.I dont know what position he was playing, but that's great news for my Braves.I also heard Furcal messed his shoulder up pretty bad in the game against Boston.RTR

Yes, K.C. went 3 for 4 in a d.h. role against the sox. Also Furcal seperated his shoulder and will have to have surgery after the season. picking up Camminiti was a very good move because we will only have to pay him $95,000 and Texas will pick up the rest. The way I look at it is if he does good what a steal and if he doesn't we didn't really lose anything.

Thanks Mama for the info. For $95,000, there is no risk. I think A-Rod gets that per at bat. Cammy is certainly still loved here in San Diego. A number of people I know (okay all of them are women) bought tickets for the San Diego/Texas series this weekend, just to see Caminiti. They were quite upset to see him leave Texas.

One back at this time & Glavine with a great outing today, I think we roll in the second half of the season.

Well people I posted earlier that I didnt think Cammy would make a difference at all. Well Im hear to admit I was wrong and eat those words. This guy is on fire. Hes already came in and won some games for those guys. Braves fans you guys might have signed a diamond in the rough. Maybe he just likes the National League. All right there it is,
