We need to build off the momentum of the Phillies series.

Probable pitching matchups for this weekend

Elder vs Bradley
Smith-Shawver vs Rasmussen (battle of the long names)
Sale vs Baz (battle of the short names)

on the brightside, I am saving money by not having any live streaming. I don't have to watch this collapse from mediocrity to downright awful. Then again I am reading it here so it isn't perfect.

I feel like a kid in the 80s/90s again.

One could blame the loss yesterday on being tired. The philly game ended rather late and then they had to fly to Tampa so you could say they were too tired. I don't believe that but one could say it.

Yep.

Except for 82 and 83, the Braves were horrendous from 1975-1990. Everyone thinks we were okay in 1984, but except for a 25-10 span between May 3 and June 7, the Braves weren't even all that good that year. Atlanta was 55-72 except for that five weeks even in a year people recall better than it was. Yes, we were in first, but if you look at the standings, that hot streak coincided with playing the four worst teams in the NL - and the Cubs before they got hot starting with that Ryne Sandberg game on June 23 (and went 59-34 the rest of the way).

It’s season’s like this I’m gonna miss Skip’s sense of humor.

“It’s the 7th and the Bases are loaded and I wish I was too”

Just for you....go listen to Skip's remarks opening the broadcast....and then remember that after this game, the Braves fired Eddie Haas.

1985 Cardinals at Braves
Skip wasn’t holding his thoughts back there!! Lol

I jumped to the end and the Braves lost 5-2 leaving the Bases Loaded.

That was a really good St Louis team with some lethal speed at the top of the order with Coleman and McGee.

They had a lot of team speed… over 300 SBs that year.

Strider is back on Wednesday so there is that.

Last year's Sale was a fluke. His career has been off and on.
I saw a few days ago where Strider K’d 13 batters in 5 innings which is video game stuff.

That’s probably more to do with the batters facing him but man I hope he saves his arm some this year and mixes up his pitches to avoid getting hurt.

We really need him healthy all year to have any shot at a WC spot.
