Good job coach. I actually grew very fond of seeing him embrace our RBs. And he stayed long enough that I no longer thought much about him wearing orange before. I think he's probably a good guy and I hope he makes good on the CNS reformation program.

I've been friends with about a dozen assistant coaches through the years...including a couple who made it to HC. Most of them were really good guys who had little or no program loyalty. A job was a job...allegiance was only as good as the paycheck for they knew the reverse was true, i.e., allegiance from the school was only as good as the w-l record.

I think it goes both ways. If a coach can be fired in the middle of a season immediately after a bad game, he has to keep his resume updated at all times.

Knowing him personally, CBJ is a good guy and so too is his wife. He loved Tuscaloosa. But once you are a head coach you want to be one again. It says alot about him that he spent all his time in Tuscaloosa until his UT buyout was exhausted. He made an investment in himself and its paying off.

My only real question is where he'll be 2-3 years from now. I'm certain he'll have success at Arkansas St., and I wonder which P5 school comes calling.

That is great for Butch Jones. He realized he needed some different insight to being a HC. I think he will do well at Arkansas State.

Arky St is a cookin' program. I hope Coach Jones wears 'em out. Be interesting to know what things he has picked up from his time with Saban, and how he can use them at State. He is a pretty decent recruiter. He looks energized too

I noticed you have been a Butch Jones fan for a long time crimson audio; me too....I didn’t care for him too much when he was at Tennessee. But I f Nick Saban likes someone in the coaching world, that’s good enough credentials for me. Anyone think Arkansas St didn’t ask Coach Saban what he thought about Coach Butch Jones as a Coach and a person?
