is he going to Bama or the Gators? I know he favors Bama but he just went to Florida for a visit and rivals said hes ready to commit. Did Florida pull another one?

Also another recruiting question, whats the word on Desmond Jennings and Terrell Smith?

Byron Walton has had Bama as his leader pretty much throughout. I would think that he would be on the verge of committing to Bama. That last trip to UF either assured him of Bama or changed his mind to the Gators. I would like to get his signature. I believe we want him as a DT. 6'3, 293 range.

Desmond Jennings will decide between Bama and UGA. He has been at the last 3 Bama home games I believe. While I think he will ultimately choose us, some have said a pro baseball career may lure him away.

Terrell Smith has Bama as his leader. Others in the race are Clemson, LSU, and Ole Miss. I hope that he ultimately chooses us. We could use him on either side of the ball. If he has a preference of positions, I would play to that strength in recruiting him.

OL and DL should always be a concern, however, it is a major concern for this class and the next. The staff has done a great job getting 6 OL already for the class of '05. DL we have Fanney, Washington, and McCall who all should return from prep school. Adding Walton in the middle would make a nice fit.

Jennings needs grades more than anything else. And he figures to be a high draft pick in baseball, so he may turn into a Bryan Bass redux from 2001. I think we're likely to get his commitment, but unlikely to see him at UA.

I'm not sure what Walton's hold-up is, but Ron Zook is a great recruiter and it's hard not to like where Florida is going at the moment. To be fair, Alabama hasn't shown the same kind of movement back towards the positive, and players picking between the two will have to have a little faith in things unseen if they're going to pick the Tide. Having said that, it's a boatload farther to Gainesville than Tuscaloosa from Trinity, and I think Walton ends up at UA.

Smith seems to be enjoying the recruiting game right now, but I think Alabama gets him in the end. Even though many (myself included) think his future is at LB or S, he's serious about wanting a shot at WR and Alabama will have to be serious about giving it to him; otherwise, he's holding a firm offer from LSU and would probably take it.

just read where Terrell Smith had 3 TDs last night against rival Hewitt-Trussville. I hope the staff is telling him that he would get a look on offense.
