Big Man Overwhelms New York City Gauchos

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA -- The New York City Gauchos has always been a basketball program that wins on speed and quickness. Today, at the Wide World of Sports complex on the grounds of Disney World, it was the skill, size, and strength of big man DeMarcus Cousins that dropped the Gauchos in a pool game.

The event is the 16 and under Super Showcase, played primarily inside the Milk House. It's been a place where many Gauchos teams have won titles and big games. But the big man from the state of Alabama was very special today.

WOW!!! What a stat line: 30 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists! And that is against some top competition. Talk about a guy who will be able to pick where he plays his one year of college competition.

If he continues to play that way, he might very well reclaim his #1 prospect standing that he previously had. He's been really tearing it up this summer. A week or so ago he had 32pts in a game in the Nike Peach Jam.

Cousins goes for 30pts/21 rbs in Orlando

Cousins named his top four in no particular order -- "It's Kentucky, North Carolina, UAB, and Memphis," he stated. He also listed Florida, Alabama, and Texas as schools of interest too. "I like all the schools because they have a chance to win and have great coaches," he said.
