I hope CNO stays for a long time but never say never until Kentucky gets a coach, I think they'll go after Drew even though he turned down Louisville, Kentucky is a better job, as far as Pearl he wants the Indiana job and he could take the Kentucky job if offered making that last big pay day, but if Indiana came open as ole saying goes " he gone"
Why does Pearl want to go to Indiana?

I appreciate the statement from Oats, it does set my nerves mostly at ease.

Yes, I'm that guy. I say "mostly" because you just never know and it happens all the time in the college coaching world. Oats signed a contract extension with Buffalo 13 days before accepting the Alabama job. Of course, Buffalo to Bama vs Bama to UK is not the same. You just never know.

Hurley is quoted as saying he can’t afford a divorce right now when asked about the Kentucky job and having to relocate.

It popped up on my iPhone news so I don’t have a link.

that phrasing could haunt him if he changes his mind.

I think this is a great hire by the pigs. Cal is a very good coach and I believe he will be rejuvenated by the change of location.
Also it will probably be good for Kentucky to get a new coach. (assuming its a good coach).
Kentucky's boosters are probably as involved with the program as Texas boosters are with football...🙄

Between the boosters, NIL, one-and-dones and the portal, I'm sure Cal is anxious to get away from that place.🤔

Watched some of the festivities tonight with the hire and really enjoyed it.

I've always like Arkansas as a program and appreciated their passionate fan base, so it was nice to see the lengths they went to for this significant occasion.

I'm not a Calipari hater, either. I think he's a damn good coach with a boatload of experience and this hire will pay huge dividends for Arkansas.

$7 million per year for 5 years not including bonuses....woo pig......not too shabby! 🤷‍♂️

Could Arkansas be paying $7 million a year for a coach past his prime and approaching the end of his career? That would be my worry if I was an Arkansas fan.

Would they be satisfied with the results of his Kentucky teams from the last 5 years? Would they feel it is money well spent? No regular season conf. champs since 2020, no SEC tournament champs since 2018. Have lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament 2 of the last 3 trips. No sweet sixteen or beyond since 2019.

Arkansas has accomplished more in the NCAA tournament then UK in the last 5 years. 3 sweet sixteen appearances (2021, 2022, 2023) and 2 elite eight appearances (2021, 2022).

They may have hired a HOF coach but, I'm not convinced he can still put up HOF results. There may be a reason why the UK fan base doesn't seem to upset about this and why there has been some unrest by their fans for a couple years, I think many were ready for a change but they weren't going to fire a HOF coach.

Going to be interesting to watch it play out.

Who knows? Hope springs eternal. But lots of questions:

Could a new environment (with less pressure) be just what Cal needs for a reboot?

Why hasn't Cal been successful with crazy talent at KY and why will that suddenly change?

When EM had crazy talent at Ark., why couldn't he win???

The most perplexing to everyone in the SEC: How in the world has Alabama become the state the SEC runs through???

All true and I would worry as well. But a lot of times a change in scenery rejuvenates the coach and is a kick to start trying harder again and not settle. I think he will tweak his teams play style a little as well. If he does that with the talent he always gets then they will be pretty good. With that said I would rather they stay down and not compete with Bama. Lol
