Question: Can Auburn Accomplish Anything Without Cheating?

For me it is a compliment that they are willing to risk so much to keep up with the Tide. Is it upsetting that the governing bodies will not stop this due to money, power, and greed. Those are old human emotions that will never die. There are injustices everyday and always will be.

Also, you have to think if that one email that is going around with the history and supposed behind the scenes of the Barn boosters is close to being true. The next decade for the Barn will be ugly.

I think it is a very reasonable assumption that Cam knew what his father was up to. What I dont know is whether Auburn was in any way involved in this.

I was reading the article about Bobby Lowder today....and it just started my crazy brain to thinking...

In 1957 Auburn won their only National Championship. It was a shared title because they were on probation.

In 93 they went 11-0 but couldn't play in a bowl game because they were on probation.

In 2004 they were undefeated and supposedly got screwed out of a chance to play for a national title, but then, it's hard for me to believe that Lowder wasn't paying players in one way or the other then as well. He always did before.

Now we have Cam-Gate.

So here we go again.

Regardless of what happens this year, their title or opportunity to play for it will be tainted to some degree. And there's a very good chance that, even if they win it all, it will be taken away down the road, at least by the coaches and the BCS, and the NCAA.

But they'd still be AP Champions forever, if they beat Oregon, because the AP doesn't consider probation or NCAA sanctions in their voting process.

My question is, "Will they ever win anything on the up and up"?

Or will they forever be the red headed step child in the State of Alabama without using unscrupulous methods to achieve their slim moments of glory?

Sounds like you're a little upset about the prospect of Auburn winning a national championship. Personally I don't care anymore, and I think it's time for Bama fans to drop the whole Auburn thing. If Auburn wants to cheat to win, fine, they're not us; if they win a national championships it doesn't mean anything to anyone but them, and they're just trying to prove something to us anyway. This year has been a disappointing year for Bama fans, not just the Bama team. Ever since we were out of the big dance we've living for Auburn's season to be spoiled. Just look at the Cam-Gate thread, the popular thread ever on TideFans is about the questionable eligibility of an Auburn player. Yeah they cheated, but nothing is going to come of it. I'm not going to discredit them anymore, or hope the NCAA will do what we couldn't. IMO Cam isn't the biggest reason they're undefeated right now. Brutally dominant OL and DL play and senior leadership is. After this year Auburn will pretty much never be heard from again in the college football world...
