Most of that was wishful thinking. And I know the numbers didn't add up.

I just now looked at scores of last years San Jose State games. Some were lop-sided, some were not. I think Utah beat them by 13.

I do think this will be a closer game than some people think.

So I'll say Bama 28 SJS 13. Richardson may still be playing in the 4th quarter.

I hope Bama blows them away. My fear is that Bama is on every team's TARGET this year. If SJS could beat Bama, they could retire for the rest of the year and say we beat the former BCSNC's. You know how Vandy almost always gives Bama trouble even in years when we have very good teams.

SJS is a question mark? at this time. Hopefully, we can answer the question effectively on Saturday. Bama's DEFENSE is a ? mark also.

Bama fans need to be PROUD and VERY LOUD on Saturday. If you can't send your ticket to me in Texas by Friday.

The visitors from Cali need to hear the vibrations of the Roll Tide noise on Saturday so they will be shaking in their cleats.

Alabama only scores 28 points on a team that only won 2 games last year and with a new head coach? If that is the case, it is going to be a long year. I think our offense is going to be awesome this year, but that is my opinion.

I see it playing out more like the FIU game from last year rather than the Western Carolina game from a few years earlier.

Bama takes an uncomfortable 19-13 lead to halftime (with placekickers from both schools having missed an extra point).

The team adjusts to San Jose State's new schemes at halftime, and the defense begins to gel.

Final score: 36-13.

Next week, Bama remains #1, but Boise State gets 22 1st place votes from idiot sportswriters.

Hate to bring ya down, but they'll probably get a handful of first downs against our first team and maybe some points if we give them good field position (freshman punter). I expect they'll score a TD against our 2nd string guys.

I'm thinking 52-10 (with 35 or so of our points in the first half before we call off the dogs).
