Can we talk about that 4th and 11 fake punt?

I am a seahawk fan, so I’m still mad about that pass play in the super bowl whenever it should have been a run play. I have no idea what Kirby was thinking there, nor do I really care LOL (thanks, Kirby). But it is one of the worst calls ever. Instead of pinning a hot team near their end zone you fake it with 11 yards to go. It was beyond stupid. What was his reasoning for it? I haven’t seen his presser.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

He’s going to catch hell from the UGA faithful, and he should. Just an inexcusable call.

How can we not? Lol

I feel like Kirby tried to make fields the difference maker when in fact every play he was in on was negative or insignificant at least. Fromm was so hot , why mess the flow up? And the fake was just dumb. Kirby cost them

It may have been a sight call that was botched by Fields but I think a head coach should go out there in those moments and say "all sight adjustment tricks are killed, punt that sucker and pin em"

Kirby was scared, and gave into his fear instead of feeding on it and gaining a position of power. When faced with a defining moment, humans all feel the same rush of fear...some feed off of it for strength, and others allow it to overpower them. Kirby chose the latter.

Going 50 yards is a lot easier than going 75 or maybe more.

I could believe it when I saw it!

Thanks Kirby!

How was he scared? Strange. He went for a big play. It cost him. He wasn’t score to do it.

I don’t know that he was too worried about Jalen’s passing. He only rushed 4 and dropped the rest in coverage daring Jalen to run and he didn’t. It was as if he didn’t really believe Jalen was a better passer. Now Jalen’s legs got him out and allowed extension of some plays that Tua wasn’t afforded with the extra men rushing.
You can say bad call, but he knew that Jalen was killing his defense. He was trying to keep it out of his hand.

You just don’t do that at mid field with 2 minutes or so left on the clock and the game tied. Bone head call but I’ll take it lol

He saw what Jalen did the series before. He wanted no part of it anymore.

In the presser he said he told team before game that if they were in a situation similar to what they were in they were going to run the fake.

Disagree, you gotta carry your balls around with a wheelbarrow to call that there.
