FLEW OUT OF HUNTSVILLE THIS MORNING AT 6:15, AND THE CAPTAIN WAS A HUGE BAMA FAN. WE HAD SEVERAL BAMA FANS ON THE PLANE RIDE TO DALLAS. ABOUT 30MIN BEFORE WE LANDED IN DALLAS, THE CAPTAIN SANG YEA ALABAMA!!!! IT WAS AWESOME, WE ALL SANG ALONG, AND WE WERE GOING CRAZY. IF THAT DON'T GET YOU PUMPED, I DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL. BEST PLANE RIDE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! :BigA::BigA::BigA:

How many planes are needed for the band? Just curious. Also OT, what was the deal with not all the band members not going?I'm gonna be on one of the band planes... so you know we'll be singing!

How's come it that the "Million-Dollar-Band" doesn't get to travel with the team more often............and then only a Pep Band?
I know, I know it's expensive; but they are an integral part of this University too.......
Man, here it is the biggest game of Bama's recent history and perhaps not the whole band is gonna be there????
Look at all the other major Unies, they for sure send their bands; why look at Ohio State, they sent their whole band for the Rose Bowl and got TV-time there too.
Even Coach Bryant always said what a great part the MDB was; surely Coach Saban is gung-ho for them too; isn't he?

I completely understand your concerns. I'd love to see the MDB there as much as would anyone else at the University. But at the same time, I have to agree that taking the entire band to the NC game would be prohibitively expensive. Not just transportation and ticket wise, which would be a monster of a bill in itself, but all around. Can you imagine how much it would cost to feed and house all those students (and their chaperons) for a week? That is, unless they are all willing to pay for their own motel rooms, meals, entertainment (tours, etc.). Then provide the extra security for all their instruments, etc. Then you have the extra liability of "unintended consequences". (Put all those college kids together, and especially if there aren't enough chaperons there, you're just asking for trouble, as well as a major black eye for the University.)
Sorry. I just can't see it.
