The Cardinal defense introduced themselves and when it came to what college each played for Carlos said "Woodlawn High School". He did go to Auburn. :conf2:

Anyone know the reason he would not mention Auburn? :BigA:
After this year, who would want to associate themselves with that program?

Seriously, I have no idea.

Don't know his reason, but I saw a guy use the name of his Elementary School once. :)

Most likely its due to the perceived racial thing in not hiring or giving consideration to Turner Gill as a result he could possibly be ashamed to mention or be making a statement to Auburn

It's not a slant at auburn. I see nfl guys do it all the time. It's just a nod to their high school, or whatever school they mention.

Interesting, since his fellow alumnus, Charles Barkely, just recently made his criticism of their alma mater.

I distinctly remember when Dansby was a high school senior. I wanted him to come to Bama. He didn't seem to give Bama a second look -- if even a first. It was right off to Auburn for Dansby. When Tuberville began making more inroads into former Bama territory (this was the pre-Saban era and the early Tuberville era at Auburn), I began to notice, and, looking back, Dansby was sort of a beachhead in Birmingham for Tuberville.

My wife graduated from Woodlawn. I was baptized in the old Woodlawn Baptist Church next door (on the downtown side). Bobby Bowden and Harry Gilmer both graduated from Woodlawn. Bowden was a big Gilmer and Bama fan. I have heard him talk about it. He at first followed Gilmer to Bama but transferred to Howard College (Samford U now) because Bama had a rule against a player being married, and Bowden was ready to get married.

Tony Nathan played his high school ball at Woodlawn. It's a school with a great tradition -- and most of it has gone Bama's way.

Agreed. I heard Jared Allen, ever the joker, list "The Culinary Institute" one time. Some even list their Pop Warner or youth football teams.

And I do remember this board getting into an uproar when Deshea Townsend listed his high school instead of Alabama during the Steelers/Seahawks Superbowl.
