News Article: Casagrande: A low-energy field intruder summed up Alabama’s unimpressive win over LSU

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I made the comment during the game, the crowd lacked energy, the team lacked energy. And now, the guy running on the field lacked energy, and so did the police response.

At home, watching, the only energy from the crowd I saw was when LSU was pinned back deep near the student section. The place was way too quiet. LSU as a program has fallen a decent amount, and it felt very obvious during the first game without BK on the sidelines. He wasn't liked in Red Stick, and the off field stuff down there will developing is particularly ugly, dragging down how fans feel about the program. Even opposing fans. I'd be a bit surprised if they win another game this year. I think it even impacted how Bama played.

Anyone think we are back in the era of winning (thankfully!!), but playing up or down to competition?

This game reminded me of some of the early Bama/LSU games during the CNS/CLM years.

Not that the defenses were as good, but in the sense, the talent level was pretty even.

Defensive struggles aren't as exciting as offensive shootouts.
