On the sliding scale, that should be good enough to get in, right?Last I heard, 3.0 GPA and 18 ACT, but retaking ACT. He should be fine.
Congrats and welcome to him! I'm all for getting the top talent in state as well. I wish we could just sweep the state, but I realize that isn't always best for our needs. Great pick-up here though.Glad he decided to roll with the Tide! Always good to get the in-state talent.
17 is high enought to enroll at UA and his GPA is fine. He may be retaking just to be sure. I wouldnt be worried. On the sliding scale, that should be good enough to get in, right?
Either way, congratulations Chris and welcome aboard.
Good to hear. Welcome to Bama Mr. Jones, Roll Tide.17 is high enought to enroll at UA and his GPA is fine. He may be retaking just to be sure. I wouldnt be worried.
As long as that is his core GPA then he's qualified by a mile.On the sliding scale, that should be good enough to get in, right?
As long as it's his core GPA, that's fine too.I think his GPA right now is actually 2.8.

Rivals and Scout list him as Chris Jones in his profiles. His name is Christion Jones.Congrats and welcome to him! I'm all for getting the top talent in state as well. I wish we could just sweep the state, but I realize that isn't always best for our needs. Great pick-up here though.
Not that it really matters, but I've seen his name spelled as Christian and Christion. Anyone know which is correct? I don't want to pull a Lundquist.![]()
Christion Jones lined up the hats on WBRC-TV Thursday night. There were lids from Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee. He cast all of those aside.
That was the little bit of theatre involved in the Minor athlete's decision. He then was handed back another Alabama hat. This one was black. He seemed to like the fit. That goes for the hat and the choice where he will play his college football next fall.
"They give a great education," Jones said on the Fox 6 Thursday evening sportscast. "They are also working hard. They are the number one team right now. They are working hard to get another championship. That's what I am about. I'm about winning. I'm about trying to reach goals and try to get to the league."
Jones held more than 20 scholarship offers, but the list had focused on Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee.
He becomes the third defensive back in the Tide’s 2011 class, joining Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix, a five-star safety from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fla., and Jabriel Washington, a four-star cornerback from Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson, Tenn. Jones is rated the No. 7 player in the state by The Tuscaloosa News.
“I feel like I made the right decision for me and my family,” Jones said. “It’s going to be a great run to see Alabama win another national championship. I am going to be a part of it and really excited. I knew Alabama was a good fit for me once I laid everything out on the table. I knew I wanted to win, work hard and get to the next level. At Alabama, you can accomplish all of that.”
