Apparently 'Bama has really picked up his recruitment in recent weeks. No real surprise there given our depth issues at cornerback, and for what it's worth it seems like he is still interested.

I hope we flip him (esp since he is a FSU commit). CB is a need postion in this class and it appears we are putting on the full court press for his services. Hopefully he will come to his senses.

And just so we are clear on the earlier situation, White did not have a commitable offer when he committed to Florida State. He was essentially told at that time that we were very interested in him, but that we wanted to see him in camp this summer before we took his commitment. He obviously said no to that, committed to FSU instead, and then popped off as referenced above.

Obviously, though, things change over the months, and you can walk things back a bit. We're showing some more interest now, and frankly with the opportunity we have for early playing time at the position we're an enticing choice when mixed with everything else. I don't think he ever really had anything against us earlier, he was just upset that we weren't as immediately forthcoming with an offer as he wanted.

The ONLY rating that matters is Coach Saban's Rating. Any other Ratings are worthless! :cool2:

If Saban wants him, then that should be good enough for the rest of us. :wink:

We have a commit from Maurice Smith from Houston, TX who is a highly rated 4*. I am not sure who else is on the board other than White but it sounds like he is a priority.

Jalen Ramsey? i thought we are putting quite some pressure on the kid although he is a USC commit

Not sure we have many prospects left out there at this point. Marquez White is obviously on the board, as is Mackensie Alexander. Aside from those two guys, though, we might be scanning the JUCO ranks.

Jalen Ramsey was mentioned above, but I don't know how that will work. He's got an offer and I think we would take him, but he's committed to Southern Cal now and he's been talking a lot about Florida lately. Tennessee will certainly come into play if they surprise this season. Don't know if he'll sign with USC in the end, but I wouldn't bank on him coming to 'Bama.

I think we'll keep recruiting some guys like Brendan Langley and Jeryl Brazil, but most of the top better prospects have committed already, and overcoming that is tough.

In hindsight, I think we've been put in a bit of a pinch. No one expected Travell Dixon to wash out immediately, and while we don't know for certain just yet, there is a palpable concern that Fulton has not played anywhere near the level this fall that we had expected. Combined, I think that kind of puts us in a bind now and we're scrambling to get another body or two at cornerback.

Lots of people keep saying that White was in Tuscaloosa this past weekend for WKU, but I haven't seen any confirmation of it and I tend to think it isn't true. Probably just some people getting too carried away with his Twitter messages.

Is there a dirtier, more unethical, sleazier recruiter in the country than Dameyune Craig? If there is, I'd sure like to know who. God knows what he told that kid. Good luck to him but I'm betting Craig told him all kinds of crazy stuff that wasn't true.

Trooper Taylor is the biggest sleaze as a recruiter, IMO

In this premium article, he says he liked Ohio State because they play African American QBs. After Tressel's resignation, he eliminated Ohio State. The talk about Craig convincing Daddy Winston that Alabama doesn't play African American QBs doesn't help FSU's case, either. Neither does the talk of Craig helping a FSU signee with his academics.

I'm finished discussing this issue in this thread. Need to get back to the talk of White visiting Bama and possibly flipping.
