funny article about the SEC

Oh my Lord, I've seen the future of college football and it's bright red. It has seniors who play like seniors and freshmen who play like seniors and the most infuriatingly great coach in the country. His name is Nick Saban. His team's name is Alabama. And that's the future. Might even be the present.

And if there is a God in heaven, new Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino will have the best 3-9 team in college football history.

"Even at the end of the season, there'll be no telling how good some of these SEC teams are. They're going to beat up on each other -- and by December there will be a three-loss SEC team that could win the Big Ten, a four-loss SEC team that could win the Big East, and a five-loss SEC team that could win the ACC."

Very well stated. :BigA:

Florida might even be as good as Alabama, Georgia and LSU, which would be saying something. If those were the top four teams in this week's Top 25, I wouldn't complain. But I would wonder where are Auburn and South Carolina, who won by identical 34-0 scores in their openers.
Great read.

Holy mackerel -- some of the stuff being said after that game on Saturday night about our team is slap off the charts. Makes me both proud and exceedingly nervous all at the same time!

I agree, I hope these young players aren't reading a lot of this, not until they have bought into the 'process' anyway

after the dismantling of ohio state by two SEC teams in the last two championship games, and the combined failures of michigan, penn state, notre dame, southern cal, nebraska, etc., i think the media darlings are finally having to realize that the SEC is the cream of the crop in college football.....from top to bottom, there are no easy games!
we've known this for years, but they're just now getting it!

Soon there will be some tough SEC teams playing tough SEC teams. Staying focused, having a good game plan, being able to adjust and some old fashioned luck will determine the winners.

The SEC is so tough and the better our team gets in conference play then the better we are overall.

You hear a lot of coaches in the SEC say that the top goal every year is to win the conference championship. That's all that matters. You do that and good things will happen, nationally.

Well stated. How many teams were conference champions and undefeated, yet did not play for a national championships?

As long as we aren't pouting for the Rose Bowl

Agreed . That was always the view embraced by 2 coaches who would know more about it than any others - Stallings & Spurrier .

This is by far one of my favorite things I've seen printed since Saturday about the SEC because it's just so funny and true.

How long do you think Coach Saban would allow any player to talk about how good we are right now?:)
I listened to Glen Coffee this afternoon on Fox Sports Radio and he kept saying "It's only one game, It's only one game" They all know, and I don't think this team will ever be underprepared again, especially when they get to see how their effort bears fruit.
