I’m sitting in my driveway handing out Halloween candy. My front garden has an Alabama flag in the center and an LSU flag on the end. Some 8ish kid comes up to me and says “Alabama stinks”. I’d say we raise them right down here, but son1 and son2 defecting says otherwise.

LSU will need to score 35 to win in my opinion. Our defense, while we have a few pieces, has been decimated and lacks depth. CB1 JK Johnson, an OSU transfer injured his leg in preseason camp and will miss the year. CB 2/3 Duce Chestnut, a syracuse transfer and Denver Harris former 5* A$M transfer can’t get out of the dog house and are “inactive” and won’t play. CB4 Zy Alexander was injured 2 weeks ago, he is out. Team captains, Safety Greg Brooks and DL Meikhi Wingo are out for the year. Brooks you probably are aware was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He is fighting to return to a normal life. Wingo had shoulder surgery last week. Yes, we have Harold Perkins, and he is playing well after a slow start due to poor attempts to make him a middle LB.

Of the 70 players on the travel squad, 21 are true freshmen. Let that sink in.

BK is an outstanding coach finding his way in the SEC which includes living in the NIL world. He has done great considering the mess Ogre left him. It won’t surprise me if lsu wins 38-31, but I’m thinking it will be Bama 35, LSU 27. Hope I’m wrong.

p.s. we’ve gotten basically nothing out of Aaron Anderson.

If we score 41 I'll be shocked.

With an average of about 2-3 series a quarter we might have around 10 offensive series. That means we must score a TD 5 or 6 times (might get a WR FG or 2 to help) to get into the 40's.

I don't trust our offense that much, DESPITE LSU's terrible defense.

I think our best bet is for the defense to show up and show out and keep LSU at bay. If they can add at least one NOT it'll help!

Depends on if we play 4 quarters or 1-1/2 to 2.

Their defense is sub-standard normal Corndog this year and dealing with injury right now. Ours is probably the best/better than they've seen since FSU. Hopefully we'll see a complete game this week and ST's blunders have been corrected.

I'll definitely take it. I want to see a few touchdowns in the first half, along with a strong 2nd half. I want to see the defense pull a "Fournette" on LSWho. Don't let them cross the 50.

I know they're viewed as an offensive juggernaut, but they haven't exactly played top notch defenses have they?

FSU held them below 30 (loss) and lowly Arkansas held them to 34 while scoring 31 on them in Baton Rouge.

After that they have 72 vs Grambling State...
41 vs MSU...
49 at Ole Miss (loss by the way)...
49 vs Missouri (they scored 39)...
48 vs auburn...
And 62 vs powerhouse Army.

While Ole Miss and Missouri were high scoring affairs, shootouts can very easily lead to that. Defenses wear out and it's game on. MSU and auburn, I'll give them that, but again look at the competition.

I can't buy the hype against the competition they've played. Yeah, I know, we've had our issues too, but I'm not convinced this is as close as some think it will be.

One thing I like to do is use the filters on cfbstats.com.

Against ranked teams, LSU is #1 in the SEC in Scoring Offense
Against ranked teams, they are dead last in the SEC

They give up more points against ranked teams (per game) than they score.

If we actually spy him on every play you can cut down the production. Missouri had it right until they forgot to stop him first. Sure he can throw the ball but our DB's are better than they have faced all year. What we must not do is let him run all over the place. Make him throw it or if he runs make him pay for it. I think he is more dangerous running than throwing and maybe alot of zone defense will help but I doubt CNS will play zone... Don't know why we don't when facing a running QB but it keeps everything in front and people don't chase WR's with their backed turned while he is off running for 50+ yds.

You have to have a spy if you are going man-to-man. I've seen Bama run man with no spy and the QB run for 15-20 yards because a safety or out of position LB has to chase him down. It makes me want to throw something at the TV.

Above is a link to a good article about Jayden Daniels. I didn't realize he thought long and hard last year about turning pro and that he is making more this year in NIL money than he would have as a rookie in the NFL (at least that is what Brian Kelly said in the article). I do not like LSU or Brian Kelly, but I do have respect for Jayden Daniels after reading this article about him. I wish him luck except on Saturday. lol.

Yep. I remember a couple of years ago, under the Ogre, LSU completely changed their defense to a nothing but blitz all the time scheme. It screwed us up and made for a lot closer game than it should have been. We'd best be ready to play!
I think they sort of changed their defense this year by hiring a consultant and changing a few things. This has helped them overall. I know their stats look better because of playing Auburn and Army, but I bet they will be playing much better against Bama than people think, especially after the bye week. I just hope Bama plays much better overall too. It will be a tough game. RTR
