nice read. am i the only one that thinks that arkansas is going to be a train wreck after losing petrino? they have some good players, granted, but they have not really played us well in the saban era (with that one exception)

You're not the only one. I don't see Arkansas being the same team after losing Petrino either and they definitely didn't upgrade with his replacement.

I think the Hogs have a very good chance to win the West. With that running back back at 100% and with that passing offense that they have, I think they have a great chance. I hope Alabama's DEFENSE is READY to handle them by the 3rd game. If the D is not ready, we will have to out-score them on the field of battle. Remember!!! The field of battle is in the Hog pen this year.

Petrino's gone, but I think the coach they have is a winner.

I agree that Arky is dangerous. On offense, that is. Defense, IMO, wins the SEC West most of the time.

I don't think they are going to be a train wreck, but I do not see them beating us or LSU. I know they have weapons on offense, but I also know Petrino called a bunch of their plays and did the defensive reading and scheme accordingly. Additionally, I am not so sure their defense is going to be that much improved over last year. They lost Bequette off the end and the new Defensive Ends will have to perform very well against Bama's rushing attack. Not so sure new starters with no superstar on the front four will dominate the best offensive line in the SEC with 4 to 5 deep running back.

They'll be interesting. They return a lot of ppl from a bad defense, but their best player on D (Bequette) is gone. They lost their best WRs, but have a very good QB back. I think they only lost 1 starter from their OL (not sure though), so they should be solid there and Davis is a good RB (not the best one in the SEC, like he believes).

Really? The only thing working in Arky's favor is getting both LSU and us at home. Outside of that, they have some key pieces to replace, most important among them is their HC.

You are not. They had Petrino who was just as detail oriented on offense as Coach Saban is with the entire program (although he was obviously distracted last year), and they've replaced him with a clown. A literal clown.

Their players are talking a good game right now, but when the pads start popping and that nincompoop starts making critical decisions, their ship is going to go down fast.

IMO, the jury is still out on him being a winner. He had a winning record at Idaho and Louisville. Winning in Conference USA and the Big Sky/Big West doesn't guarantee success against the Big Boys. He didn't have a winning record a Michigan State, so I don't thnk he will be more successful than Patrino was.

Arkansas lost three of their star receivers and another one might not be in the lineup because of legal issues (Marquel Wade). Those receivers were the main reason they were any good. Adams, Wright and Childs were a hellacious trio. Their running backs will be really good and that is the part of their offense that really worries me. Their passing attack won't be nearly as good as its been the past few years especially now that Bobby Petrino is gone. I actually believe Alabama will have the better passing game of the two this year and our running game isn't going to drop off much either.

I agree, although I thought the way he left Louisville was shameful.

I feel like I was just verbally abused with those bold statements and ALL CAPS.

Who is to say Davis is 100%? We saw how Hightower was in year 1 after his leg injury. And I do remember an Alabama team outscoring Arkansas at home in 2010 and 2008. Why should 2012 be any different?
We'll see how it shakes out but Davis, Johnson and Wingo are a very good trio of backs.
They might be very good, but how many running backs have done very well against an Alabama team since 2007?

I know the media has hand picked LSU & USC but this ain't 2010 & Saban rarely let's the same bad thing happen twice.

I don't get the good remarks then the yes but. I really like Barrett Jones but why is no one seein AJ's talent. He had better be the one leading the offense.

As for Defense, all but true freshman played, he will have them ready.
