Allegations regarding an incident earlier in the year, which broke earlier this week.

ETA- Here is the original story about what happened that brought about the investigation- https://www.outkick.com/sports/baylor-ad-cfp-chair-mack-rhoades-investigation-sideline-altercation
Sounds like Mack Rhoades was out of control.
And yes, if a player is wearing a yellow long-sleeve shirt to hide a brace he is wearing, I would support him for playing hurt and avoiding giving the other team an advantage by knowing the player had some injury.
Putting his hands on anyone can be cause for an assault charge.

And this guy was not only on the College Football Playoff Committee, but was the Chairman of it?

When I read that article I thought this would be the only outcome. My brother and sil are Baylor grads and she is in administration.

I feel bad for the player. He was playing through injury and the AD was giving him grief?

From a management perspective, on game day, the AD's concern is the t-shirt one player is wearing under his jersey? That is what you are worrying about?

The NFL has been doing this for decades. I'm not saying the AD was right either.

You would want the chairman of the CFP to be someone rational and objective. So their choice was this guy.

SMH
The playoff committee exists solely to produce what they think will be the best TV matchups for $$$$$, nothing more. There is nothing objective about it, that is why they threw out all the computer models tied to the BCS. So the job of the chairman is merely to shepard those decisions, not be rational and objective, imo.

This is why I have grown to support what amounts to a full on NFL-ization of college football. Break up the conferences into some sort of divisional arrangement in which division winners play other division winners which advance in a series of playoff games to a final Superb Owl style championship game.

No rankings. No committee.

Is that the same clown who went on TV Tuesday night and answered Rece Davis’s question about why Indiana should be ranked ahead of A&M? His answer didn’t even fit the narrative. I thought this committee was supposed to pick the 12 best teams, but apparently it’s just another way to hand out participation trophies. Feels like a rec league tournament.
