CFP first rankings

In the grand scheme of things, there really wasn't anything wrong with the BCS formula. It could've been used in the 4-team playoff, and still be used today.

TBH, the results were pretty much dead on with how the BCS would have calculated them. I really think that some of the CFP members still used that formula to come up with their rankings...

Totally agree. For the most part, BCS got it right for the two team championship and any questions of the formula would have also gotten it right with the 4-team championship.

What's interesting to me, is how wide open the field is this year in terms of who can win the national title. At this point in the season in prior years, I could have identified 4 teams that I thought the national title winner would come from and probably have gotten it right. The lone exception is probably 2014, I don't think at this point in the season I would have included Ohio St. in that field.

This year, I would select, Ohio St., UGA, Texas and Miami as 4 teams I would identify as where the national title winner would come from, but I also think it could come from a field of Oregon, Penn St., Tennessee and Alabama.

Heard some good points based on strength of schedule this morning with the rankings. Why is OSU over UGA both being 1 loss teams and UGA having a better SOS. Also why is IU so much higher the Army when they both have a terrible SOS and no good wins.
