Re: CJ Mosely

Was he horse collared by Jefferson?
Nope. Jefferson jumped on and rode him to the ground. The weight, the angle and the torque caused the hip to pop out. Thank Heaven it wasn't a similar injury to Bo Jackson. That's what I was most worried about when it happened.

Yea after seeing the SMU player injury in the bowl game the day before,I had to grimace at the look of the hip right after the tackle. Then for Jefferson to lean on the leg. I wish Dre could have gotten to him, but he would have been thrown out.
Sorry, it wasn't a dirty hit, just an awkward one. jefferson was not used to tackling people....

i think bo's injury led them to discover an underlying issue. the injury itself wasn't what sidelined him. it was the other stuff. at least i think thats how it panned out.

I guess the angle of the fall is what pops the trocantor out, instead of fracturing the back of the hip socket as Bo's was and mine was in my ladder fall. There's obviously going to be damage to the head of the trocantor, if it's caused a fracture to the hip socket. They just don't know why sometimes necrosis begins in the trocantor (did with Bo), or why it didn't in my case. Maybe it's the extent of the damage. Bo's situation came to light about six months after my injury, so I had another xray, just to be sure...

Truamatic injury or dislocation of the hip can damage the blood supply to the femoral head. This can lead to avascular necrosis (AVN). That is what happened to Bo. Hopefully, CJ's injury did not damage the blood supply or anything else which might prevent full recovery.

Re: CJ Mosely

The Lesser and Greater Trochanter don't have anything to do with his injury. Like the poster below, the main concern is if there is vascular compromise to the femoral head.

Re: CJ Mosely

When should we expect to hear an update on CJ's condition? I find it strange that we haven't heard anything at all for over a month.

Maybe we won't know anything until Spring practice starts?

I thought it was noted that he had the MRI and that nothing further was needed short of some rehab and rest that he would be ready for Spring Practice.

Re: CJ Mosely

I hope you are right . CJ is my favorite player on the team . Sorry that you are sick .
He is one of my favorites as well, I've been trying to find his Jersey for over a year now. I really hope he gets back to 100%.

They rarely comment on any injury other than season/career-ending injuries. It's not unusual at all for there to be no comment on CJ...

Re: CJ Mosely

remember that ER episode where the guy kept showing up and demanding painful procedures to be done because he got off on the pain? ;)
