The biggest difference between last year's success and this year's lack of it, is simple(and NO, it's not Grizzard)...

Last year we RAN up & down the court, fast breaks every time we could get it...

This year we SLOW it down so that our "stars" can get "looks" at the basket. There is a problem with that strategy: WE DON'T RUN AN OFFENSE!!!

-No one moves without the ball
-No one sets effective screens
-But EVERYONE makes terrible choices on shots
-TR Dunn's departure, he was very good in coaching Dudley & Walker...

CMG's Murray St teams ran & ran & ran & ran some more... this year's Bama team can barely handle a two-man press and throw up the worst shots I've ever seen.

They can still turn around this season, but their schedule doesn't let up...

My brother is a proctologist, and he says that he's seen a dramatic increase in the number of "rear-end injuries" in the last week or two, that he can directly contribute to the scores of Bama fans jumping off the Tide basketball bandwagon...

Good points. Plus I really think that CMG has ran into something that he has never had to deal with before, & he is young coach & he will figure it out. In a situation like this, you're going have to deal with the growing pains of his inexperience & his youth. But one day he would have learn from this & know how handle it.RTR!!

Question? Would we be talking about this, If Bama had not been ranked #1 early in the Year? Last year, we beat Kentucky in Lexington, we were 17-3.No one was talking about #1, we were happy with the success. Maybe we as fans, have set our goals to high right now. Just a question.

for me it has nothing to do with being ranked #1
I thought this was a good team since last year
if we didn't have what I thought was some of the best talent we've had in a long then It'd be OK
I don;t care about the rankings I expected them to get a higg seed in the NCAA tourney it's not going to happen. I thought CMG was onf the best coaches in the country, I learned that he is not top 5 in the SEC. He probally will be one day btu at this point Bama & CMG are bottom dwellers in the SEC. It's not nice to hear but it's just true. I am a CMG but I overrated him and the team this year. I hate it for the players.

You are right. This is not one of his better days right now. IMO CMG is facing something that he has never had face before & his youth & inexperience is really hurting him right now. I still believe he is too talented as a coach not to figure it out. But patience is hard as a fan, especially after being so good last year, & having great expectations this year. But in the long run Bama will be fine, & CMG will pull it together.(Do we have the patience??)RTR!!

FosterK, I agree with you. We are just not playing to our strengths, we need to run, run and run some more.

BFinGT as far as the ratings, they don't mean anything to me. What dissapoints me is knowing the quality of players we have and them not being given the opportunity to reach their potential.

Gottfried is young and I hope he can pull his troops together and Roll again soon.

I also find it interesting that our opponents usually have some no name player come out and set a career high(Vandy & Ole Miss) against us.

That shows that we've been keying on certian players and leaving others open... we need to up all our defensive efforts on ALL their opponents on the floor...

I don't think you can blame youth and inexperience for the problems. How many games have Meade, Dudley, and Walker played during their careers? Mo Williams and Pettway got plenty of seasoning last year as well. These guys should be leading this team. If we are counting on Winston to save the day then we are sorely deficient in leadership.

"My brother is a proctologist, and he says that he's seen a dramatic increase in the number of "rear-end injuries" in the last week or two, that he can directly contribute to the scores of Bama fans jumping off the Tide basketball bandwagon"...GREAT LINE FOSTER...********

With the depth and athleticism we have, I would love to see our defense play a high tempo fuul court defense, like Arkansas' 40 minutes of hell. And with a D like that, we would certainly get some fast break opportunities.
