Speaking of Richardson...

He rated his official visit this weekend to Florida as a "10."

That's not what I wanted to hear, but you had to know Florida -- and others -- was going to roll out the red carpet and treat him like an absolute king. Knowing Meyer, he's probably telling him that he will re-design the offense just to fit him.

I'm not too worried about it, though. Richardson will rarely see the ball in Gainesville, and he knows it. In my opinion, the much bigger threat is LSU, especially now that it doesn't seem like Dexter Pratt is still coming.

Even so, despite the sky is falling talk, the smart money is still on Alabama. Even at LSU he'd be buried on the depth chart as a freshman, and at Alabama he'd get a 150 carries as a true freshman, even if he didn't start outright.

What can you say, though? We all knew this was coming, so we should be prepared by now. Richardson will have rave reviews of all of his official visits, I'm sure, and he'll continue to be a wishy-washy with his comments, but ultimately he should still stick with Alabama.

But they've got Mike Ford committed, who's the greatest RB ever (at least according to some of their boards).
Be that as it may, the LSU coaching staff is still going after Richardson with everything they've got, even if it will cost them with the stud tailback they have lined up for the 2010 class. And they've been doing that for going on almost a year now.

Despite the Ford talk from the casual fans, they are still trying all they have to get Richardson... even if it might cause Ford to re-open his commitment, or might cost them getting Lache Seastrunk next year. He's the one they want, and you can rest assured he will be treated accordingly on his visit.

Still though, with Scott coming back and Keiland Williams still on board, he'll be at best the third-string tailback next season, even if he beats out Ford and others. At Alabama, though, again, he might even start, and he'll at least get 150 carries splitting time with Ingram.

That pretty much goes with what I was saying with UA being the best situation for TR. I was looking at he stats from last year and with LUS and UT left on his sked ... LUS really doesn't use a 3 back system like Saban did when he was there.

Scott was the leading rusher with 1,174 yards, next was Williams with 417 ...

Upchurch as our 3rd string back almost had as many yards as their second string back, and you could argue he would have had more if he wasn't injured toward the end of the season. So that means we could have had 3 backs with 500+ yards.

UT's leading rusher only had 570 yards, which shows their inability to run the ball.

And I think we all know the rushing situation at UF ...

So again, UA's O scheme should be a better fit for him but I also am sure he'll make the decision that he feels is best for him ... after all, it's his future.

Yes TR did give his visit to UF a 10 but really what did you expect him to say? I would almost bet my paycheck on TR giving his visit to LSU a 10 as well. The most telling was what he said when asked if he was still committed to Alabama, "yes sir."

Though it does seem all of the sudden all these guys are giving numerical grades on their visits. Patrick to AU-10, Kelly to CU-10, Richardson to UF-10. Not that I am surprised they were perfect visits because if you are still uncommitted at this point you don't want to turn any team off with an 8 and fire up the recruiting services and the fanbase, its just weird they are all giving numbers and not just saying "it was great." Nevertheless I'd say the smart money is on us signing TR, TP, and KK if we want him.

Anyone heard what Dre said about UF? Haven't heard anything yet. Glad he and Trent were there together though.

Exactly. Trent may have rated the visit a 10 but he still said "nothing has changed, I'm still committed to Alabama." I'm not worried about TR reneging on his commitment, he's all Bama IMO.

As for Dre, he said "it was alright." He mentioned that it was about the same as his last visit down there. I'm not worried about Dre either, I think everyone knows he'll wind up in Crimson, it's only a matter of time.

Adding some flare to the process...

Dexter Pratt has committed to Oklahoma State, and will enroll there in the next few days. He was committed to LSU, and was trying to enroll, but something happened and now he is going to be a Cowpoke.

At the very least, this creates more urgency for LSU to turn Richardson. I don't think it's happening, mind you, but just so you know that's the case.
