I like CNO just once can we at least get to a Final 4 if Auburn and South Carolina can why not us. last night I noticed SDSU HC to me looks like a snake in the grass GO Creighton.
Yes but they caught lightning in a bottle. We won't see South Carolina do that again ever, and I'd bet Auburn won't either.

If CNO needs to make any adjustments, it's figuring out ways for his teams to not fade in February/March. Some of this is just natural - you are going to wear down physically as you get deeper into the season, and your opponents are going to get better at stopping you as more film is available to watch.

So it's not like I know what, if anything at all, needs to be "fixed." It's just an observation that we seem to start out the first half of the season on fire, we're unstoppable, and we are beating everyone by 15, 20 points. Then as we get into the conference schedule, things tighten up and games become slogs. That's been the constant of the Nate Oats era. And again, some of that is just the way it is for every team.

We can't go 3/27 from 3 point and win in the tournament, especially at this stage. And I'm getting into a rant now, so forgive me, but when we went up 48-39 and then due to two bone-headed lazy passes by Miller it's quickly 48-44, that's not refs. That's not a flaw in CNO's system. That's losing focus at the worst possible time. We could have buried them at that point, and even JQ said when we got up 9, it was like we took our foot off the gas. You cannot do that in the tournament ever.

So, we will learn more lessons. Coach Oats will continue to grow. I mean wow. This was just his 4th season with Alabama and the 1st one got cut off halfway due to Covid. If Alabama did not have its Sweet 16 history, we would be on cloud 9 right now looking ahead to even greater things.

I found this good article about Coach Oats. I did not know about any of this until I read it yesterday. I think he loves Bama and will be at Bama for a long time. I think Bama had a really good season, especially considering the circumstances. I was hoping we'd make it to at least the Elite 8 or Final Four. It is so hard to do though.

I don't know who I want to win it all now.

CNO is tops in my book.

Has anyone mentioned that 2 SEC championship sweeps (both reg season and tourney wins) in three years may be a first for any Bama BB coach? I'd swear it hasn't happened in the time since the late 80's when I started following the program.

He's doing great things, so I'm not one to question a single strategic move the guy makes. Here's hoping the powers that be feel the same way.
Wimp won both in 1987, the only time he won the regular season title. Had five tournament titles.

Newton won the regular season three times in a row but no SEC tournament at the time.

In 4 seasons we are legitimately mentioning Coach Oats in the same breath as CM Newton and Wimp Sanderson.

Let’s just do what it takes to keep him and to support him with the resources he needs.

I have been to Watertown and many other small communities nearby. They are mostly characterized by Victorian homes along the main street. It would be typical to see plant nurseries, orchards, dairy barns and corn fields surrouncing them. With the exception of the Milwaukee area, crime is practically non existent. It is a great place to raise a family and obviously turns out some really great people like Coach Oats.

Sounds like I was right. 1987 was a championship sweep year I had in mind, but no two out of three years doing it like CNO has done. Great run of tourney champs by the legendary Wimp Sanderson though.

Great coach, great recruiter, gets max effort out of his teams. Demands they play smothering defense. Lets them have fun on offense. Multiple SEC Championships. What's not to love about Nate Oats?
Plus at tip-off. There were only 12 teams left that had a chance at the NC. I think that puts us in a great place.

Really do appreciate CNO and the job he’s done for UofA. This season was a huge success that ended in disappointment. That disappointment is based particularly on our and media expectations. Let’s face it. We’re spoiled by success. We have issue when we don’t reach OUR wants as fans. We’ve lost 2 high level assistant coaches from this staff which is an indication the Bama B-ball program is TOP TIER now. I remember seeing fans on this forum openly expressing their dissatisfaction with the hire of CNO before he ever coached a game in the plaid jacket. Where y’all at now?!? And don’t give me the crap about he can’t get us over the hump. Where were we with Grant & Avery?
So, thank you Coach Nate Oats! You’re doing a great job and deserve the success and support THAT IS ALABAMA! ROLL TIDE!

No 1, 2 or 3 seeds left to travel to Houston. Only 4 UConn, 5 Miami, 5 SDSU, and 9 FAU seeds will make the trip. I think the top seed in this category will WIN, but I would NOT bet on it. Unbelievable how bad UCONN beat Gonzaga last night. I believe Timme played his worst game ever at Gonzaga.

He had to sit for a lot of the first half after picking up 2 fouls. In the first 2 minutes of the second half they got him with fouls 3 and 4 so he had to sit. It's when UConn ran away with it.

FWIW, Uconn was winning that game either way.
