One thing clear to me in the NFL draft's first round was the number of quality players that was recruited by Coach Saban and his staff while at LSU. The players chosen in the first round are as follows:
#1 overall - Jamarcus Russell
#6 overall - LaRon Landry
#23 overall - Dwayne Bowe
#30 overall - Craig Davis
This is four choices in the first round of the NFL draft, the most this year than any other team. I believe that this speaks volumes of the type of recruiter Coach Saban is and the type of staff that he puts together to recruit quality players. This makes me that much more excited about the future of our football program as a whole. Even though these players were not a part of a national championship team, they very well could have been with a little better coaching than they had the past two years. I know as we all do that it may take a few years for coach to recruit the players that he did at LSU, but that time will come, we just have to be patient.
