I could see all these coaches getting recycled. Hottest name out there is Kiffin, who is UF or bust. Kelley to state penn, Franklin to VA tech, Fisher to the corndogs, sleeze to arky and, who did I miss?

I hate to reply to my post but I have a story. I pulled up to the Jack’s drive thru and looked at the burgers on sale. I love Deboer, but don’t like bbq sauce on my burger. That being said, the “Freeze with Cheese” looked good. I couldn’t bring myself to order it.

Jimbo at Auburn might actually be a problem with a decent staff

He had Jeremy Pruitt as DC and he didn’t ball up in the corner like Kirby did while facing an RPO running QB.

As bad as they have been, Durkin has done a very good job with their defense. I could see them giving him these last three games as an “audition” for the job.
Keeping him may also minimize some defections to the portal.

If you hold a team in this era to 10 points and lose, you’re not the problem.

I have never been a successful prognosticator, but I am calling Jimbo Fisher to Auburn as its next HC. He has ties to the loveliest village and I suspect he wants back in the SEC. While not a Fisher fan, he would be a formidable opponent in most games and recruiting. There is an unknown to him getting back into coaching, and that would be his real desire to return to the sidelines in the NIL, transfer portal pressures. He would certainly be a better choice than most of the names mentioned. I suspect Yella Fella will want him since he would be able to still call the shots in the football program. He has a NC and has beaten CNS which is exactly what the auburn cult wants.

The worst thing that could happen to the Barn long term is for Freeze to coach the IB. I’m really not sure how he survives the Kentucky loss but with Lashlee signing a major extension who would be the logical target with so many replacements at much better jobs out there. Jimbo fisher has been sending feelers but would they really go that route

I just think Kiffin throws a wrench into this whole thing and says “I’m not moving from Oxford”. It is also worth noting that Texas has alot of buzz about potentially being open because Sark is looking towards the NFL.

Kelley to State is a possibility but I think they may be set on Matt Rhule.

Florida WILL have someone with a name attached. They aren’t going the G5 route this time. I suspect if/when Kiffin says no they pull a shocker hire out of left field.

LSU I think they are stuck on two names and that is Kiffin and Sumrall. They will likely get one.

Auburn… I think they are the runt at the bowl and they are going to have to justify their decisions quickly. I think the Iron Bowl may determine it. Were Durkin to beat Alabama I think a lot more Auburn fans and donors would be willing to live with the idea as him as the HC. Should he lose then there is a 0% chance it’s Durkin. I think assuming that we win it’s likely that they go after a Fisher or Ogreron guy who has a name, has beaten Bama, desperate to coach again, and has a ring. I don’t see another Harsin or Chizik hire. I think they are going for another “Bama killer” hire.

He would be the same level of problem he was at A&M, maybe some less. At A&M Jimbo has unlimited resources, bought all the top recruits, and every season underperformed. Of course he did beat Bama once so he has to be considered, and to me, he actually seems exactly like the coach auburn generally hires.

Jimbo's problem is that he thinks he is a brilliant offensive mind...same as Freeze and Napier. We see how well that worked out...

Jimbo fits at the barn. He's beaten Alabama once and won a NC at FSU.

Trouble is, he forever under-achieved with his talent at aTm, and won at FSU only when he had Jameis Winston.

Plus, he's been fired from major programs twice.

Jon sumrall and the usf guy Alex golsh(sp?) would be hr hires that would make me super nervous but luckily I think the auburn power brokers are so desperate they will only settle for a power 5 name even if it’s a worse coach.

Separate note I wonder how all this buyout money is gonna affect their nil purse? Thats ALOT of money

Saw a barn fan post on FB that said, "When they announce the new coach he hopes he doesn't have to google who he is." So, yeah, they believe they can get "a name."

Matt rhule just signed an extension he’s staying. I think kiffin is staying too as om is working on a new contract for him as we speak. I think lsu is going all in on the Tulane coach. The usf coach should be uf’s choice but I think they go “name” too. Matt Patricia will not be osu’s d coordinator next year. He is crushing it this year. I read Franklin to vt was trending but Florida could do worse

Yeah, I don't see that as a homerun. If he couldn't succeed at A$M in the NIL era, I don't see it happening at AU.

Now, if they want to return to being a perennial 8-4 to 7-5 team, that'll work.
