Sadly, I fully expect the Atlanta Falcons to hire Sherrone Moore as their next head coach.
Different circumstances. Cowher’s wife was dying, he just won a SB, and having to bad sit the franchise quarterback wasn’t something he had any desire to do.I guess it worked out OK for Cower.
It's pretty ridiculous how so many fans seem to believe they know how to do the job of a CFB HC better than the guy who actually has the job (and the experience). If it were as easy as many believe, everyone would be making $10m/year doing it.I get everyone's frustrations and all, but at this point, everyone is telling CKD what he should do..... it's not always a good look when we as a fan need to execise our patience and let him figure it out. He's a smart man. He obviously see the same issues we all are seeing. We just have to wait and see how he make the adjustments in the off season.
If this were to happen it would open the door for a return engagement for Brian Kelly.Apparently Marcus Freeman has been in talks with the Steelers on a potential opening if Tomlin retires

DeBoer has forgotten more about coaching CFB than literally every poster here has ever known...
Few jobs are as easy as they appear from the outside.
[Anxiety about the lack of Assistant Coaches changes....]
I am thinking about 5 job openings in the NFL this year.Kevin Stefanski out at Cleveland. Two NFL coaches out already. Pete Carroll most likely next at Las Vegas.,

I couldn’t believe last night on the Sunday night game between the Steelers and Ravens that there is some speculation that the Ravens might be considering moving on from John Harbaugh. Certainly the Ravens have had some issues getting over the hump in terms of getting to and winning the Super Bowl. But the guy consistently wins. I don’t get it.,I am thinking about 5 job openings in the NFL this year.
One of the announcers last night said if the Ravens had a pass rush they would already be in the playoffs. Last night the Ravens couldn't get to Rodgers, especially in crunch time. Even with that the Ravens had a shot to win, but they missed a 44 yard FG at the buzzer. If the Ravens make the kick, they are in the playoffs over the Steelers. I hate leaving it up to a kicker.I couldn’t believe last night on the Sunday night game between the Steelers and Ravens that there is some speculation that the Ravens might be considering moving on from John Harbaugh. A rookie kicker at that. A rookie kicker because your previous veteran kicker did some stuff that cannot be talked about on a family board. One of the announcers last night said if the Ravens had a pass rush they would already be in the playoffs. Thank God. Now show Geno the door as wellRaiders have fired Pete Carroll
and he is on the list of possible candidates for the failcons. Are you freaking kidding me?Kevin Stefanski out at Cleveland. Two NFL coaches out already. Pete Carroll most likely next at Las Vegas.,

It's the goal of the sport right? If you win, you can get away with anything - and the fans will even defend you.
If you lose, the same things people find charming on winners are part of the problem preventing you from winning.
The NFL has always recycled coaches...and he is on the list of possible candidates for the failcons. Are you freaking kidding me?
Dabo has been average at best since Venables left...It's the goal of the sport right?
A lot of people here really grew to dislike Dabo, like a lot. Me? I didn't care much, if he won he deserved respect. When he's losing though? Yeah, what a moron.
That's the difference. He's refusing to use the portal now, he's losing, he's an idiot. He was a darn good coach when he was winning. I see some people here trying to make comments about Cignetti. Dude is winning, I don't care if he's a jerk, he just kicked Alabama's butt with far less resources. I know who did a better job coaching, and it sure wasn't the other guy, it was Cignetti. These coaches are paid to produce results.
So yeah, you win you deserve respect. You lose? Then we can talk about all those things we don't like about them... If DeBoer stops getting his butt kicked you better believe my complaints stop that instant because I just want success. I don't dislike him personally, I dislike the results. You'll note how rarely I said anything remotely negative about Saban, while some people here complained about what he said about fans, or complained about this or that, even openly said they were tired of certain things about him, constantly second guessed his choices, etc... Look, he was winning, I wasn't going to complain about him specifically as long as he stayed within reasonable ethical boundaries.
But, to reiterate, their job is to win. It's not to make me feel good about myself, it's not to get me like them, it's not to it's not to make me admire them, or want to be friends with them, or agree with all their choices, it's to win games. They do their job, or else someone else can do their job. I can't be a head coach, but there are other people out there that can do the job for 10 million a year and ultimately my money does go to help pay that, giving me at least the right to an opinion.
Edit: Not really trying to argue with you, just making a general point.
I know, but the odds are slim that any failed coach will be successful elsewhere. Yet they do it over and over. The NFL has always recycled coaches...
