Coaching carousel 2025-26

All day and twice on Sunday, he and Mike Tomlin i think are two of the best

As a Steelers fan… if Tomlin retires after we get bounced like it’s being rumored then I hope we unleash all the money in Pittsburgh to get John Harbaugh.

I think the Ravens made a very short sighted move in deciding to side fully with Lamar. But in the NFL you side with the franchise quarterback over the HC. Ironically, without Harbaugh… Lamar is a gimmick rotting on a team that had no intention of ever starting him.

The NFL is just weird with their carousel. Get fired? Hired by someone else.

Arthur Blank should get on the phone with Harbaugh. I would take that recycled coach.

Well the thing is that Harbaugh is a legitimate coach that won with a hard nosed defense and a capable offense. He isn’t just some flavor of the month guy that got lucky with an elite quarterback and receiver combo.

I thought the reason he left Hoover to take a job in Georgia was that he had 25 years in The Teacher’s Retirement System of Alabama? Many long term teachers/coaches move to another state after 20-25 years. My high school coach put in 25 years in Alabama. Then coached another 15 years at a school in the Florida panhandle.
It's all about their pension and getting a second one.

Which was why I thought Josh Niblett left Hoover to go to Gainesville, GA. If he left to go to Foley, he would be back in the Alabama Teacher’s retirement.

Nonetheless, he and Dion maybe tight. But, knowing Niblett pretty well, I just find him going to work for Sanders somewhat odd. Could be he felt this might be his only chance to grab at the brass ring of college coaching.

If I were Niblett I would want to make sure Deion isn't gonna bail and take an NFL job.

Still criminal lack of ability to understand situational context and use Henry properly.

Two examples, Ravens up by 3 late in the game with the ball. Henry is having a great game, but Harbaugh decides now is the time to do a RB rotation! The Ravens stall, punt, loses the game.

Then their final play before the kick was similarly out of touch. He's set up for a 42 yard field goal, which is not a chip shot but he treats it like one (after just seeing the other team miss). Allegedly because he's afraid Henry will fumble (1% chance), he instead has the QB run backwards 2 yards to center the kick. This lowers the odds of a successful kick by 3%. If Henry had run forward for a mere 2 yards though, that improves the odds by 3% more. Missed field goal, end of season.

You got Henry use him, you're still coaching...

Glad to see this. But every moment that goes by without word on an OL coach is really concerning.

...or a new OC for that matter...hoping we have a new OC and OL coach before it is all said and done, or I fear we're in for a lot of the same in the future...

CBG ain't going anywhere. He and CKD have a long history and share the same offensive philosophy. The only way I see CKD firing CBG is if it's a requirement in order to keep his job...and we're not there yet.
