This is one of those things where some people simply cannot acknowledge two things can be true at the same time, and there is nuance to everything.

Did the Barn dial up a pathetic defensive call? Yes.

Did Milroe throw an absolute dart? Also yes.

Should we have been in that situation to begin with? Absolutely not.
Actually that's incorrect, I started out by saying I can rightfully criticize and give credit. This is one of those things where the OP said we won despite not because so my post corrected that post with an example I never once saw you chime in and correct that statement but you took issue with me doing just that. Saying we should not have got there is also saying we should not have made the final play. The national championship against Georgia was the same way...but funny, we win that one Georgia didn't gift us that. Some of us acknowledge the obvious..others deflect and blame.

I laughed out loud on 4th and 31.
Seriously though we had no business winning that game.
I saw the bad snap on 3rd down then went into the kitchen and started doing the dishes. I then saw Gravedigger and said “Oh my God” but not in a happy way. More like a sarcastic, “get out of here with this crap” kind of way. Then it hit me that we actually won the game.

If you're willing to say we should have never have been in that situation...then what you're telling me and the rest of the Bama nation is that it's not how you finish a game, it's where you started. So question, if it's not how you finish a game...how many wins and championship are you willing to vacate due to a game not starting how you want but finishing in a win with a final play? Serious answer...I'll wait

I love Milroe because he stayed with the team and was leader those who stayed. Here is the problem. Take away the run from Milroe and he is mightily handicapped. I am with mixed feelings. We were picked preseason by most media to have a 9-3 record.
Since the whole world knows how to stop Miloe it makes me wonder if it will be 9-4. Whatever, I love KDB. He has the chance now to pull in his type players. Roll Tide.

You can’t see how much of a fake leader he is? When does he fire up his teammates? Where’s all the video of him giving inspirational speeches?

Oklahoma sold out stopping Milroe from running the ball, daring us throw the ball, what irked me the most watching the disaster unfold..

There was open WR's open all game long, waving their arms, begging Milroe too throw the ball to them & he didn't opting too run the ball for losses or for minimal gains..

Our coaching staff simply didn't make the needed adjustments & decided to live or die with a gameplan based on Milroe running the ball for whatever reasons..

Coach Venables is simply too good of DC too allow that to happen & this loss falls on our coaching staff for not making the adjustments that was needed for a reallyyyyy faulty game plan against Oklahoma..

At times, Jalen Milroe has played like a world-beater.
At times, he has played catastrophically.
And the scary thing is that you never know which one you are going to get.
That makes it really hard for his own team to plan for.
When I watched the first couple of offensive possessions I knew it was bad Milroe last night. When I watched the first couple against LSU I knew it was good Milroe. You just never know which is coming out of the tunnel.

Did they do that because they knew he couldn’t do anything else? I don’t know the answer to that.

Jalen has a lot of talent, and I have always wanted him to do well. As he goes, so goes BAMA. He seems to have his good games against teams with suspect defenses. For example, against LSU, he was able to do what he does best which is run the ball. LSU's defense can't stop a mobile QB. Jalen can look amazing versus teams like that. But it seems that, every time we face a good defense that can stop him from running, we get deer in the headlights Jalen because he's not good at reading defenses. Just look at the Michigan game last year, or the Tennessee and OU games this year. You could also throw the second half of the Georgia game in there. Other than the one throw to Ryan Williams at the end, not much else happened. Plus, it looks like our coaching staff hasn't worked much with him on quick throws, or shorter throws etc that help loosen up a defense. All his throws seem to have to be at least 20 yards down the field or something like that which means our blocking has to hold up longer. None of this matters now though as we have played our way out of attaining anything good this year. It's time to look to future.

I'll also add that I've had my fair share of criticisms of him but when you say "we've won despite not because of him"..I remember him throwing an Ace of a bomb to Bond in the iron bowl to win that one. He's won some and he's lost some
He put us in that position with multiple 3 and outs. Chunking 50 yard deep incomplete passes instead of short check downs

What was the final result of that play in the iron bowl..the quote you're referencing me on ? Who threw it ...was it a win? ....As I've said give criticism where warranted and give credit where due. Your quote "we've won despite not because" ..feel free to elaborate where I'm wrong with crediting the young man with a perfect throw in an iron bowl?

While Milroe may not be the answer ...it ultimately falls on the head coach. Milroe is playing qb because the coach has refused to pull him. I can give my opinion on his capabilities as a qb, but I can't fault him for playing qb . That's a decision Deboer must face , the question is does CKD make a change for the future or does he finish out a season that's primarily down to a bowl game.
Milroe is playing only because he used LANK to buy other players loyalty, and they won't play if he's benched. The whole thing is toxic and needs to go.
