Well, if you ever had gone to NS, you would’ve understood the joke I assume @AWRTR was making…Not really interested in those topics, I'm more of a sports guy

I think he’s saying that if it hadn’t been for atrocious QB play the rest of the game, we would have won easily and wouldn’t have needed a miracle play at the end to win it.What was the final result of that play in the iron bowl..the quote you're referencing me on ? Who threw it ...was it a win? ....As I've said give criticism where warranted and give credit where due. Your quote "we've won despite not because" ..feel free to elaborate where I'm wrong with crediting the young man with a perfect throw in an iron bowl?
winner, winnerI think he’s saying that if it hadn’t been for atrocious QB play the rest of the game, we would have won easily and wouldn’t have needed a miracle play at the end to win it.
I understand that but if he had not completed the pass, there would have been a loss...just like the Georgia game in the National Championship. I'm going to give Milroe his credit just like Tua. Nothing more, nothing less...but I'm sure all of us were jumping for joy when that pass was completed , every game is not a 4th quarter beat down by Bama ..sometimes things don't go your way the entire game but miracles have been needed in many games of all sports.I think he’s saying that if it hadn’t been for atrocious QB play the rest of the game, we would have won easily and wouldn’t have needed a miracle play at the end to win it.
Glad someone got the joke. I knew a few in the thread would grab on.Well, if you ever had gone to NS, you would’ve understood the joke I assume @AWRTR was making…
No doubt perfect throw perfect route by bond and great catch. What was the final result of that play in the iron bowl..the quote you're referencing me on ? We were only in that position because of how bad Milroe played all game long.I'll also add that I've had my fair share of criticisms of him but when you say "we've won despite not because of him"..I remember him throwing an Ace of a bomb to Bond in the iron bowl to win that one. He's won some and he's lost some
Saban made a huge error of judgement in thatWhat is frustrating is that when Milroe filled in for Bryce Young in 2022, it was pretty clear then that Jalen did not have the skill set or mechanics to be a starting QB for a team like Bama. Even had an OC state that Milroe was not a QB. Yet Saban rolled the dice with Jalen in 2023, probably thinking he would turn out to be the next Deshawn Watson or Johnny Manzel, and he never showed signs he was getting better with his mechanics or skill set to be the starting QB. Saban could have chosen any other QB on the roster to be the starter, and we would probably be in better shape than we are now. Here we are two plus years later and have no clue who will even be here next year to compete for the starting QB position. As long as it is not Milroe, I don't care who it is. Just get rid of all the LANK players, and hopefully CKD can start running his system.
Imo this is one case where giving saban total control over football might not have been the best route.Saban made a huge error of judgement in that

Saban strongly encouraged JM to transfer and it almost happened. TCU didn't want to give JM the assurances he wanted so he wouldn't leave. What is frustrating is that when Milroe filled in for Bryce Young in 2022, it was pretty clear then that Jalen did not have the skill set or mechanics to be a starting QB for a team like Bama. Which even makes it worse. If Saban did not have confidence in Milroe and was encouraging him to transfer, why did he continue to play him?Saban strongly encouraged JM to transfer and it almost happened. TCU didn't want to give JM the assurances he wanted so he wouldn't leave.
Because milroe was paying other players. Those players made it clear they would only play for JM.Which even makes it worse. If Saban did not have confidence in Milroe and was encouraging him to transfer, why did he continue to play him?
I'll just have to SMH at Saban then if he allowed that to happen.Because milroe was paying other players. Those players made it clear they would only play for JM.
We were in that situation because of Milroes lacking skills in the first place.I'll also add that I've had my fair share of criticisms of him but when you say "we've won despite not because of him"..I remember him throwing an Ace of a bomb to Bond in the iron bowl to win that one. Alright this is a little ridiculous. I highly doubt Saban thought Milroe was going to be Watson. From my understanding he was recruited to fill a QB spot in the class after they weren’t able to secure Jake Maye. He was never supposed to be a starter. Basically what happened was some QB recruiting misses from 2021-2023. For whatever reason the guy who was supposed to be ready to take over, Ty, wasn’t developed or mature enough to do so, so Saban threw Milroe in as a stopgap. Then we got stuck with him due to locker room dynamics. On top of that, we lost our top QB recruit this offseason due to Saban retiring and the stupid new transfer rules. So are in even more of a hole at QB.Imo this is one case where giving saban total control over football might not have been the best route.
