Well, let's remember that during the 2021 NCAA basketball tournament (the one that the media DIDN'T cancel) the NCAA pulled the plug on Virginia Commonwealth due to a team outbreak and the whole narrative was "oh lawd, here we go again....the dance is over" and it turned out to be the only cancellation. Same thing happened to North Carolina State in the College World Series. The consensus was that the remainder of the CWS would be cancelled and again, there was but ONE cancellation. The media is LOVING this. They want us to THINK that season is being discontinued

IMO, A&M should get a bill from the city and community for the lost revenue that will happen because the game is canceled. Their lack of concern for COVID and the selfish players entering the portal or sitting out just cost many people a lot of money. Good job A&M.
Yep! Maybe this could take away some of that NIL $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ going to College Station.

Why is a decision being made to cancel a game that is still 9-10 days away? Were aTm’s covid cases all life threatening or something?

The Omicron variant seems to spread pretty much regardless of vaccination status -- it's fairly mild but very transmissible.
That’s what is so disconcerting. If vaccines AND prior infection mean nothing, then there will be a tendency to lean towards a March 2020 style shut down

I didn't see that in the article. Vaccinations don't stop you from getting Covid. They do help though.
You can still test positive, even if you’re boosted, not be sick and still have to quarantine. Masks and social distancing and hand washing do more to keep you from getting it; vaccine does more to keep you from getting sick if you do catch it.
JF said a while back team was 85% vaccinated (not sure if that meant boosted), but we know now that alone won’t stop you from contracting the virus and missing games.
People think that because they’re vaccinated they’re good; that might be mostly true as far as getting pretty sick or hospitalized with COVID, but it won’t keep you from catching it. That’s the problem in sports - quarantines cost players and games, whether they are “sick” or not.
