The Brandon Cox signs are low class. The AwfUl sign is funny.
... are they so dissimilar that one of them can be funny with the other one being low class?

I wish the mods would add the word "class" to the profanity filter. I just did a search for it on TideFans and unfortunately it only returns the last 150 threads that contain the word... the kicker: the oldest one reported was from September 5th - two weeks ago. That's 10 THREADS per day that mention class. I'm inundated with all of our class - or with all of our talk about it anyway.

The brandon cox signs are:

--below the belt
--distasteful
--unimaginative
--disrespectful

There is an enormous difference between calling out an opposing player by name and making fun of a program. Would you have liked it if they had a sign at Gameday at Allbarn that made fun of Prothro's leg? Or the fact that Van Tiffin couldn't hit a field goal last year? As for the use of class would you have rather I used low rent?

Yes, I would get peeved if Aubies had a sign about Prothro's leg. That's a completely different subject. Would I get mad if they had a sign last year that said "I Love Chris Capps?" No, probably not.

You know what, some of you guys want to "have your cake and eat it too."

It's okay to make fun of Ears because he's getting paid. It's okay to make fun of the team because it doesn't hurt any INDIVIDUAL'S feelings. It's okay to wish death and dismemberment on Fat Phil (and criticize his weight) since he's in bed with the NCAA. And it's even apparently okay to make jokes about throwing bricks through Bill Curry's window... We not only let this type of talk slide, but we ENCOURAGE IT!

But it is NOT okay to sarcastically say you love the rival team's quarterback?

DEAD BALL FOUL. LACK OF CLASS DISPLAYED BY A TIDE FAN! PENALTY IS HAVING TO BE LECTURED BY TIDEFANS.COM MEMBERS ON WHAT CONSTITUTES AS HAVING "CLASS" AND WHAT DOESN'T.

I don't agree with a lot of the signs. I don't think all of the Saban stuff should be out there... but I get sick of the moral orals who mock teams/players with one side of their mouth and condemn the criticism with the other.

I am giving my opinion. I think making fun of a player from another school on your Gameday is tacky. If Gameday were at Allbarn for the UGA - Allbarn game and there was a sign about Capps I would think it is tacky as well
