Comedian Tim Wilson, who died Wednesday at age 52, relished his role as Southern gentleman know-it-all when he visited radio's "Bob & Tom Show" in Indianapolis.

The Georgia native made dozens of appearances on the morning program that's heard locally on WFBQ-FM (94.7) and more than 100 stations nationwide. Speaking with a thick drawl and frequently wearing a hat, Wilson held court on topics ranging from JFK assassination theories to Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants.

You have not lived until you have heard this guy's "Uncle BS" routine.

What were YOU doing November 22, 1963?

And Dave Gardner begat Jerry Clower who begat Ray Stevens who begat Lewis Grizzard who begat Jeff Foxworthy who begat Wilson...

I met Tim in Huntsville at the Von Braun South Hall back in the late '90's playing at a race expo they used to have before the NASCAR seasons would start. The NASCAR drivers would sign autographs and Tim played his guitar and songs, so while my wife and kids were standing in line waiting on the autographs and holding my place, I went over and listened to Tim.

He took a break from playing and had a table set up to sell his CD's and sign them so I bought one and asked him to sign it. We got to talking as there was not many at the table, in fact just him and me at the moment of him signing my CD. I was telling him how much I loved his songs and he was going on about how big I was, and he asked me where I was from. At that time the family and I lived in Arab AL. He told me that he co-wrote a song called Arab Alabama with Pinkard and Bowden back in the early '80's around the time of the gas shortage we had back then.

He signed my CD, "To Damon" "Good to meet a big Arabain", "Tim Wilson". I told him I remembered that songs and if he would play it, and he said he would. While we were standing in line to get, I think Bobby Allison's autograph, he played the song and said that goes out to Damon a Big Arabian LOL!!!

My wife also talked to him a couple times she made it into the John Boy and Billy radio show when he was their guest. We have most of his CD's and I sure hate to hear of his passing. Hell he was the same age as myself, 52. Here is the link to the Arab Alabama song by Pinkard and Bowden. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJB9fYMLALE
