Agree with his reasons or not, it takes character to voluntarily walk away from an NFL career (with money, fame, and women) because you don't think it is the best thing for you to be doing with your life.

One of my favorite Bama players of all time. So rare to find an athlete now who is introspective and sees beyond the almighty dollar. Roll Tide, Coffee, and thanks for everything.

Saw this earlier today and I had no idea he had ended up on active duty. Here's hoping he's finished all his training and is off fighting the good fight with his head down and his powder dry.
