His ashes were scattered on a mountain on the Blue Ridge Parkway, with 83 other bikers in attendance. (I'm not sure he ever mentioned being a biker on this board.) His name was Hugh Marks, from Pleasant Grove. His nickname in his bike club was "Guru." He had his former wife and close friend relay his last remark to me - " I KNOW THE GATES WILL BE CRIMSON."

I suppose if you are on here long enough this happens to people you have become friends with on this site even though you never see or talk with them. Sometimes I wish we could all get together, have a few drinks and get to know each other better, but I suppose this is the way it is meant to be. Nonetheless, losing one of our members is never easy and is something I will never get use to even though I know inside they are much better off. I really appreciate all of you guys and gals, now I am through.

I'm thankful he didn't linger in misery, pain, suffering.

Thanks for letting us know Earle. This stranger, who touched our hearts with his courage and stregnth, has been in my thoughts for days. Glad to know his rugged journey with disease is over.

I'm glad he had someone contact Earle about his passing. I enjoyed seeing the courage and good sense he displayed in his final thread. When he started that thread, I remembered him saying last fall he was terminally ill. He got to see a great season and now he has the best seat in the house for the next one.

I've had a few message board "friends" die over the years. Thought you don't really know them and often don't even know their real names, it is amazing how close you get to some of these people you meet on here.

I am also saddened, but then again I feel a great relief for CrimsonForever1. It takes great courage to stop cancer treatments and go out on his own terms. His pain is no more.
Prayers going out to his family. May he forever rest in peace.

I know exactly what ya mean..I may never meet known of y'all..But..With my medical issues y'all know about & with me being on disability..I'm limited to the physical activities I can do & I spend a lot of time on TideFans..It passes the time by & keeps my mind occupied off my medical problems..By the time I read y'alls post on the Non Sports forum..I'm usually in tears from laughing so hard..That's a good thang..They say "Laughter Is The Best Medicine"..Then I need all the laughter I can get..Seriously though..I've come to think of y'all as family here on TideFans..Y'all may not realize it..Everyone one of you have helped me get through some mighty tough times..Especially when I was at UAB for a couple of weeks when I had surgery..So thank you..I very much appreciate all the prayers & laughter's you've given me..It's very much appreciated..
