Croyle believes Alabama has talent to win title
He came to the University of Alabama as the top-rated high school quarterback in America.

Four years and two major surgeries later, Brodie Croyle would be the first to admit his career as the Crimson Tide's quarterback hasn't exactly followed a Hollywood script.

"I know what was said when I came," he said. "That we're going to win three national titles and all that came with it. When I came, I was expecting the same thing. We've had a couple of setbacks, whether it be coaching changes, probation or my injuries. It's been a rocky last couple of years.
Brodie Croyle Q&A
Alabama's Brodie Croyle, who has endured two season-ending injuries and other disappointments as the Crimson Tide's starting quarterback, was asked recently about the challenges facing his team this fall.

Very good reads,

Brodie is a player I wish we had every year b/c of his leadership qualities and attitude. The team sounds very focused and I hope that it translates onto the playing field. For all that this class and last year's class have gone through (especially brodie with all his injuries), an SECC would be a great way to finish their careers at the Capstone.

... these are the kinda articles i like to read - gets me pumped about the prospects of the 2005 season - my gut tells me we are going to be okay

we may not have the talent and/or depth that our SEC counterparts do, but we've certainly got some hungry players who have set some goals and will give their heart and soul to achieve those goals

with the cards that we've been dealt, i can't ask for any more than that right now

I agree. We definitely have the talent. It is a a depth thing. When players have played the whole game, especially the defense which was on the field a lot, with little substitution, players are tired and injuries occur more often. They played against teams who had 10 or more linemen to rotate in and out. No matter how good they are, fatigue causes missed tackles, etc. We still do not have sufficient depth but at least we will be more competitive. I can't wait until we are back on an even keel and can whupp up on the SEC.

I am hyped as well and I believe that know the "few spots"

that we need to shore up...the offensive line. Other than the "O" line, I personally believe that we have plenty of depth to be really strong this year. I know that we won't have 3 deep like most SEC teams, but personally two deep (without major injuries) is plenty. Just look at Auburn last year...they didn't have a single injury that effected their starters and without injury special years can happen!

Roll Tide!

"I like it. I think it's a good offense. All of us have confidence in it. We know what it's capable of doing. It's just a matter of us not ending up the season with our fourth-team tailback and our third-team quarterback. We have to stay healthy and make everybody believers in our offense."

Bingo! Brodie sums it all up in that quote. I think we saw through the first three games of last season what our offense was capable of. Injuries (and subsequent lack of depth) decimated that offense, and our team, into a shell of itself.

Everyone, when you get on your knees before bed, needs to pray for this team's good health this season. Do this every night until, at least, December. It (lack of injuries) could be the difference between the Music City Bowl and the SEC Championship game.

As far as depth goes, we look night and day better this year than we did last year.
