I saw some show with Stephen A. Smith saying Dabo has been slow to get on the NIL and transfer portal program and is now playing catchup.

He has been very proud about this too... And it has cost them dearly.

Between that and a much less talented coaching staff and taking lots of players whose parents are friends and coaches (and are not DI material) he has really hurt his roster and can't coach them up.

A lot of people forget when it became clear Venables was stealing signals, their opponents adjusted. Then Venables left. Clemson really hasn’t been the same since.

Have you watched him play this season? He's hardly an "average" QB at best right now. He's not seeing wide open receivers, making grossly wrong reads at the line, etc. He's already thrown half the interceptions through three games that he threw all of last season. Below are Klubnik's stats through three games and Ty's stats through three games. Klubnik was supposed to have Ty's stats, and most pundits would have told you before the season that Ty would have Klubnik's stats. Dabo has a quarterback problem, just like Texas does.

I'm actually in agreement with you, but my post must not have come across that way. Sometimes "it's not as simple as QB" but in this case, I think it is.

I think as time passes we will learn more that there was a transition plan in place. But that all went in the hand basket when Saban abruptly retired which resulted in going into crisis mode.

You have to have some cut throat tendencies... Dabo has gone all in on a much less good group of coaches and won't replace inadequate players from the portal. The world has changed and he hasn't changed with it. That and not having NFL players on the DL and a stud all world QB the last 6 years...
